It would be weird because he cannot appealingly engage into this kind of thing. It is not of his interest, nor would it be of the vast majority of boys. I certainly know that boys are the most amount of viewers, and that it is genred as a boy's show, as the manga was serialised in a boys magazine, but it is simply a niche show of which very atypical males watch (who mostly do not have girlfriends). It's just like Hidamari Sketch, that is the most fun and engaging show for a girl, I've found, because it's a really delightful fantasy full of really pleasant things you wish you could experience, since it manifests the comfy lives of girls bonding with each other and getting through their school years whilst substantiating it with a lot of nice social things like eating together and going to events together, but of course it's the same audience of vastly mostly boys, who watch it to feel warm and enjoy their cuteness whilst not really getting on that much of a level with it. It's just peoples interests in general would never find them watching shows like this at all, and they're a niche thing that the people who find interest in get into it with specific circumstances generally (although Madoka got fairly big and will have interest in quite a lot of people but that will be a minor amount overall).
Anyway, have you ever heard the characters? Have you ever seen how their feelings get affected? The ways they get motivated, the ways they get angry? Do you think the personality and behaviours of them is something that a boy would generally find engaging at all? The boys who watch it are generally of personalities that are contrasting to the usual, or personalities that are watered down and induldged with fantasy that is irrelevant to their physical self which they disconnect themself from cus filthy otakus who are neets/people who just get through their job to go home and do stuff on the computer.
Okay, so obviously, since you said about autism (for whatever reason), the context of something seeming to be autistic by someone is if something discomforts them, irritates them, is incomprehensible to them, or has social frustration/ineptness. ALL it is, is that he cannot enjoy it, because it is not appealing. If he were to go up to a group of girls, he would be completely fine in every manner, he would be able to say things quite substantially, but the problem is he wouldn't enjoy it, it wouldn't be appealing.

It's just different to how most boys would feel. Also when it comes to the more specific things that tends to manifest a lot of normal common boys, I bet there are things that I would find irredeemable and I would think of them as bad people who need to change! Lotsa normal common people are probably bad in some ways I believe. My BF is like my outlook of the most favoured ways for boys to be.

a84c0d No.37188
>>36826But it's Magical girl stuff, it's pretty much entirely about their feelings and interactions with each other. Well it has cool themes of how human feelings and importances conflict with the objective logic of the vitality of their position in prolonging the timespan of earth and stuff. Aside from that, which needs to be driven by everything else for it to be worthwhile anyway, it's about circumstances that are very spiritual in nature and logic and serve as reperesentations for what is meaningful and precious to the characters and how the characters are affected with what they deal with, so it's very much about how the characters are and becoming emotionally attached to them because they reach out to your feelings.
It's generally a real bore for boys. It's like with idols how since the 80's there's been several males really invested in following idols in Japan and they're all really effeminate and root for their favourite idols with a platonic love for them and chant things to them when they preform and get into it in a bizarre way that is really different to most boys.
