/fem/, what kind of skin care products do you use? I have Western favorites such as Lancome and Alba Botanica, but I've found my skin responding much better to Korean products such as Laniege, Etude House, Missha, and Innisfree.

This is what I've been using since last year and it works really well. Origins also makes a very nice charcoal mask. Charcoal is indeed amazing for blackhead and sebaceous filaments. I only have the latter and they're on my nose, but everyone has those and they're normal.

Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores. Coconut oil works for some people and for others it breaks them out. I have combination oily skin and didn't see any breakouts with jojoba, but everyone is different. Some people even use olive oil (again, clogs some and for others it won't) or argan oil.

i never understood the why people want to use exfoliates to strip dead skin cells,
the purpose of the stratum corneum is to form a barrier to protect underlying tissue from infection, dehydration, chemicals and mechanical stress.

this means that you are effectively opening yourself to infection, accelerating cell divison causing aging, drying out, ect.

not really ideal if you want healthy, soft skin.

My skin is hella sensitive, so for skincare I mostly use Shiseido's foaming cleanser and Paula's Choice exfoliates (as well as their moisturizers and the C15 super booster). They're not the gritty exfoliates, but they help dry skin and dark spots. I sometimes like to use a chemical peel once every 4-6 months if I'm feeling up for it, which has helped a nasty scar on my forehead fade tremendously from childhood.

I use a lot of Beauty Diary masks, along with Missha toners, TonyMolly Sleeping Packs to help with dryness around my eyes and cheeks, and Skin79 base creams instead of foundation.

I find Korean products to do much better for my skin. They have a 10 step daily routine that a lot like to follow, but shit it's a lot to do. It helped my skin a lot, but I'M LAZY.

Are you seriously going to be that person who needs to be told that skin conditions exist and hereditary/hormonal acne is a thing? That changing your sheets and gulping water alone does not work for everyone? That not everyone's skin is yours and this is an individualized process?

Honestly, these types of threads always go well until someone like you comes in and decides to shit all over everything due to your own obnoxious ignorance. Some people can use just water and a washcloth and their skin is fine. There are people who cannot do this because it not only doesn't clean out their pores, but a washcloth can be too harsh for their skin. There are others who get tight, dry and flaking skin because it's just in their genetics or due to the climate in which they live. There are even women well into their 50s who still suffer from acne, simply because those are the cards life has dealt them. You can cry about birth control, muh chemickuls, water, washing bedsheets, diet, etc until the cows come home. It doesn't make someone's skin automatically decide to operate like yours does or to your preconceived notions. And, in certain cases when all of those options fail, people seek a treatment because nobody likes looking like shit or feeling like shit.

So, unless you're going to contribute in a way that isn't some passive aggressive, cunt-laden bullshit? You can fuck off, because people like you help to misinform others. I'm glad that you've never had skin problems, despite how nastily ignorant you just were, because it isn't shit I'd wish on any person. But, you need to understand that not everyone is you and applying YOUR situation to the rest of the world is myopic and closed-minded.

The guy I quoted was specifically talking about "organic lotions" and a lot of the discussion in this thread is specifically about buying skincare products and exfoliation and stuff. My Mother's side is the very fair skinned side who actually don't possess undertones, at all. I never realized that none of the women on that side of my family used powder or foundations, because they never found a color to match their skin.

I've never had rough skin, but it has always been pale to the point of scrutiny. I use Laneige products for smoother, brighter skin (the yogurt repair and water sleeping packs, especially) along with My Beauty Diary masks. The Bulgarian Rose mask by MBD is very good for what you're looking for. I also rely on Missha's Time Revolution First Essence as my toner. If you're unable to find those, you could try this..

>I use a wash cloth when I wash my face. Is that not good enough?
From what I've read it's a poor substitute, plus bacteria can grow on the wash cloth and then you rub it all into your face. The electric brush is my favorite method, I feel more certain that I exfoliated my face properly compared to rubbing exfoliants on by hand.

>I just bought http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EWH6KYC on a whim though. Should that help?

Probably, although it looks more oriented towards acne rather than general facial beauty. My vitagoods brush has a brush for "cleansing" and one for "exfoliating" (the latter has sharper bristles) and it looks like yours is more oriented towards "cleansing".

If it's not too late to cancel your order I'd suggest getting a vitagoods brush on eBay, you can get em for as cheap as $25 on there, including shipping.

I have similar experiences with Korean skin care/hygiene products.

Makeup, Skin care, Toothpaste, Shampoo&Conditioner, even Korean Soap.
