a) There are any number of reasons that people may have a genetic predisposition towards homosexuality. Genes are complex mutherfuckers and things that we think are related to one thing often interact with totally unrealted genes to cause weird results. Or even if you look at recessive genes like red hair or eye colour shit still stays around.
b) Why would homosexuality as a "genetic disease" be any more likely to cause humanity to die out than any other genetic disease? of which there are many. The carrier gene could be dormant, it could be related to two or three positive traits that when combined in a specific way create a weird side effect.
Personally, i see most gender and sexualty shit to be mostly a social/cultural thing. but there's no denying that genetics is part of it.
Also, whilst about half of that was behind a pay wall, i saw nothing that specifically talked about the nature/nurture debate in any of them, except for that teens experiment and that gender norms in their immediate surrounds influence them greatly, that doesn't say much about the cause of sexuality. (If i've missed something obvious, please let me know)
