Post your outfits, useful links, taobao shops, catwalk envy etc.

0381f7 No.48466

Is this the appropriate place to air my envy for fashion designers? I want to design and sew fancy clothes for women (I'm a straight dude who wears work pants and steel toed shoes everywhere). Turns out you have to have rich parents to pay for all your shit while you apprentice in Paris, New York, or Milan of you ever want to make a living at it, mens or womens fashion.

864aac No.48471

>>48466
You mean high fashion not regular fashion, right?

High fashion is indeed very difficult to get into. You have to have rich parents with all the right connections, or you have to work extremely hard and have a lot of luck.

Most fashion designers don't work for 'fancy' brands straight away, they start at the bottom, designing for cheap chinese workshops and no name brands.

Image related. Cheap chinese workshop no name brand.

File: 1422261105495.jpg (2.1 MB, 1936x2592, 121:162, fat fashion 3.jpg)

Here's my talk on fat fashion. Because hey big girls wanna look good too.

This one has a nice top. Black is slimming and this one is loose and flows without having bulges. It flows over the hips and accentuates a nice hip to waist ratio.

The pants are really the wrong color. I'm sort of torn about tight pants on plus sized women, it depends what you think people will think about your legs. Bunches of fabric folds are not your friend here.

As for the shoes, I like em. I just think she needs to get more matching accessories to go with that color. She's got the wedding band and watch. Maybe if she had a nice gold necklace and wore black pants with white black purse it would look nice and balanced in color.

9b2345 No.50124

File: 1422261369729.jpg (71 KB, 460x690, 2:3, fat fashion 2.jpg)

I love the matching and complimentary colors here. It works really well with her pale skin, dark mysterious eyes, and raven dark hair. Dark nail polish is also a wonderful touch.

A tight skirt like this gives that accentuation of a hip waist ratio and tempts them to think you're that cute, quirky, smart and curvy girl with a nice big bottom. Mmmhmm.

The chains on the necklace look dorky though and the bare legs are daring if you don't feel confident about how they look.

9b2345 No.50126

File: 1422262017255.jpg (64.94 KB, 480x640, 3:4, fat fashion 1.jpg)

Look at her, that outfits says classy and here for business, but also you're fun and cool.

Looking well to do expresses that you have something good going for you as a person. So what if you're fat, girl you look rich.

The watch might be a bit too big and distracting. It looks like it would flop around on her wrist and forearm, not good.

The heels are crazy ballsy. Consider wedges that are lower so you're not in trouble. Oh dear.

I'm sure she tweezes those eyebrows but it's not so much that I know she does it for sure. The lipstick and nails work. Nice amount of blush on those cheeks.

Jeans work well for big women, but just remember unless they're stretchy you can put on more weight and not fit in jeans anymore. You don't want that happening to you honey.

Her eyebrows look overplucked. So many women nowadays with super small eyebrows like this. It's sad because often they don't grow back, so they end up having to draw them on and fill them in heavily just to look normal.

On the plus size, I guess you can do more varied 'eyebrow shapes' with ease, and it's easier to groom/maintain. I had a friend that shaved her eyebrows off in secondary school, she would just draw them back on.

Yeah, they have some very…strange…items of clothing, esp. if it's anything alternative like fairy kei. It rarely looks good even as an accessory.

It's cool if you like to dress up in lolita or whatever for fun, but it's not really compatible with regular clothing, unless you're doing otome

Like with any country, they have some good fashion that's acceptable for most occassions, and they have some 'cartoony' or goofy stuff which is more ALT.

While a healthy weight is best, for some people it does take a good deal of time and effort to fix years of abusive habits.

During that time a person may still be called upon to work, go to school, and socialize. They can't put their life on hold. So it makes sense to try and look respectable for now while also trying to lose weight over time.

The wacky patch and plaid red could make a hard core nerdy skirt. It would probably be too much to go for a full dress with that. Not unless you went for a purposefully garish ensemble.

The blue looks fine. It might make for a nice top or dress.

The black looks very fine. It looks a bit flashy so that's when you want everyone to see you.

Is that black with small white polka dots or brown with small white polka dots? Black is wonderful and brown would work for a rural look. Except these are the sort of small polka dots that would work for a retro chic nerd look and that's not the kind of thing I would mix with an unassuming natural and rural color.

The white with black floral floral could make a nice dress. For a skirt I think it would best go with a black top.

That's not as good as I hoped.

I honestly don't know how to best use a sheer, brown, polka doted piece of fabric.

It normally looks good to mix brown with white for a sort of soft natural earthy tone of clothing. Maybe you could use the fabric for some sort of shawl, scarf or something draped over your outfit?

Alternatively if you have a boyfriend with a submissive secretary or librarian fetish you could wear it as a blouse without a bra.

I had to look Mori up, I'm not an expert in Japanese street fashion by any means. I like the Mori look, but polka dots with that style would not be my first choice except as something like a schal.

Those panties though. Mmm mmm mmm. Very good find. Very airy and light, extremely cute and clean looking. I bet if you wear those then oral sex is going to be in your future.

Check these out. They have an eye catching form. Plenty of accentuation of the hips. They have a classy and lady like look, yet they're very sensual.

To improve on the design I posted though I would make that frill just a little more skirt like. The tail bone area looks somewhat bare. Also that frill needs to be comfortable when worn under clothes, otherwise friction and chaffing… not good.

I think that style CAN be cute if you aren't fat and obnoxious, sadly that's like 90% of who wear it.

Also, those rings are really cute, do you have a link?

I'm the same, I have very little jewelry, I prefer to save up for really valuable pieces that have a good resale value.

Russian gold is really good, anything lower than 18 karat is not worth it I think, but at the end of the day, it's whether it makes you happy that counts.

I have a friend that has a freaking bag of bracelets, necklaces and little trinkets like that, but she always ends up wearing the same pieces. I think less is more.

Haha. My grandma had like a fucking tote and one of those plastic shoe rack things filled with costume jewelry, it really just looked like hours worth of untangling chains.

I kind of want to buy a really nice pair of earrings for myself for my birthday, but idk what to get :// I am allergic to gold (white and yellow, never tried rose, but probably not different) , so everything has to be silver or platinum and well made so my ears don't turn green.

Gold is one of the most inert and unreactive metals in existence. It will not cause allergic reactions.

If your ears are turning green because of 'gold' earrings, it's because those earrings are cheap shit made with a metal like brass or copper; not gold. (If you paid megabucks for the jewelry, you got jewed.)

Also, you still aren't having an allergic reaction. It's just copper (or similar) salts (which are blue/green) sticking to your skin like paint. An actual allergic reaction almost always involves swelling and soreness.

Not meant to be rude, just a knee jerk reaction to the flashbacks of my time living near Seattle. They can't get enough Goodwill in the Puget Sound area. Its crazy to see that kids dressed completely en vogue months before go to a grandma chic look and back again in a few months time. Really fast fashion cycles. Its like watching a dog chase its tail, at a walking pace.

Have to say, some ofit is tacky and overdone but I do love the militaristic look and am kinda sad it's declined in women's fashion.

I love the abundance of buttons, high collars, form-fitting coats. If only we could pair them with decent skirts, I'd lose my shit.

I don't like the excessively layered or baggy knitwear, it looks peasant-ish. Same goes for flowing or thin tops with lots of folds, it just looks poor-fitting and not even in an interesting way like the Flapper dresses of the 1920's.

I swear I'm straight.

bcdeec No.57595

I think part of the problem with the military look is that it has been adopted and abused by the militant feminist crowd, ruining it for the rest of women out there who would rather not be associated with a bunch of man hating assholes.

i'm a graphic design student who studies on one of the best fashion campuses in my country, so i come into contact wit ha fair few fashion design students.

to be honest, there's a high dropout rate, the classes are naturally 90%+ female, and a lot of them have very vague ideas of what the industry is actually like, so when it comes down to the hard work they flake.

even the people who eventually graduate have to either get lucky or be entrepreneurial to find work.

only maybe 1-5 a year find anything for a decent sized company, and even then they will just be doing alterations or something like that…

basically, it's like any creative industry, ruthless, difficult to break in to, and mainly outsourced to third world countries.
