I don't have a problem with waiting until marriage, I want to lose my virginity to a guy I really love anyways and if he wants to wait that's fine, I'm not that interested in sex anyways. As long as it doesn't tempt him to rush getting married.
I don't think I could date a Christian, seems to me like almost all of them were just raised into their beliefs and never questioned them, and I dislike that. It's fine to hope there's a god but I can't think of any logical reason to believe there is one. Not a fan of really strict morals either. I'm agnostic, by the way.

1: God isn't picky. All are welcome in the Kingdom of God. He asks you to respect his teaching, but you won't get expelled from the heaven club just for one wrong move.
2: Even if God were picky, it would still be worth it. Most popular depictions of Hell are pretty mild compared to reality, as are most depictions of heaven, although in the opposite way.
Every time I read a thread about Christianity, the lack of understanding of even the most basic theological ideas is depressing. It's like you learned everything you know about Christ from reddit.

It's preferable to take a modern approach to the bible actually. It's a book that was written in light of the mores and culture of its time. The whole marriage thing was institutionalised and developed upon later on, initially it was loosely 'the person you're with' and you didn't require a priest to be married. Same with priests being celibate, it's not said that it's necessary to be celibate if you're a priest in the bible.

>>55157>u wot m8well look, the most important relationship anyone can have is with their Creator - and once someone has met God, and committed to following him, it takes at least 3 years to get really established in your understanding of what Jesus has done for you

>>55185oh, i'm sorry - it seems i didn't explain myself properly
i agree that a human couple could easily get to know each other well enough in 2yrs to decide whether to marry
but i was talking about the scenario where a young woman becomes a christian, and needs time to grow in that relationship with Jesus before involving herself in a romantic one with a fella - 3 years being half-decent, since it's the time Jesus took to train up his first disciples
… and any church-going fella who doesn't give a girl the time to do so, isn't really looking out for her best interests
55f27d No.55193
>>55170Personally, I would agree that it certainly doesn't take 3 years to get to know someone.
But, I would support the idea of waiting at least 3-5 years of being together before even attempting to get married.
The reasoning behind that is to ensure this person is who they are, that the relationship can be maintained and it's flaws accepted, to confirm that the other person is as dedicated to the relationship as you are, and to make sure you can deal with living with that person for the rest of your life.
53fc87 No.55214
>>55193y'know my '3 years' figure was in relation to how long it takes for someone to go from converting to becoming a grounded christian, yeah?
but putting that aside; when you talk about people being together 3-5 years before marriage, are you talking about living together?
reason i ask is because studies have shown that 79% of couples who live together, separate within 5-7 years - and couples who live together,
but do marry, are more likely to divorce
55f27d No.55220

course it really all depends on whether you share the same values, and are realistic about how people grow and change - and are committed to nurturing each other in that

Birds to the left and right represent duality, as in evil is the same thing as good.Maybe you're thinking about Yazidism, because the peacock, crow, and swan simply represent various stages of the Alchemical process (also the words say "I am the black, the white, the yellow, and the red"). The dualities are most commonly in regards to the Masculine and Feminine or heavenly and earthly.
