But Skype is such a huge and proprietary thing that has a substantial personality and wide range of users. That's all that makes Skype worthwhile at all. If you want FOSS software that is well encrypted and isolates the exposure of info to yourself and friends then you shouldn't want some all-rounder social network type thing because there's no point because it won't be fun to use and if it's not fun to use then you should take it easy with simple things like Pidgin and Mumble. Plus I think Tox is kind of vunerable anyway.

The thread on /baphomet/ was mentioned because not only has it been linked on this very board for all to see, but because you were speaking of it last night in the group and you know it. Oat spoke gleefully about how she was looking to ruin someone's life by doxing them and then posting the information in /fem/ and how it was going to be "so good". Maybe you're getting defensive because you know that this was said on a voice call and nobody could have proven it unless they were recording the call, but who would think to do that in a casual chat setting? Once again, taking advantage of people by having expected them to do something they wouldn't have thought to do in the first place because they trust you to not be a bunch of shady bitches.
