Only males are at the leisure of applying themselves to master just one particular thing. Where a male pro gamer clocks in their 12th hour of LoL in a day, a woman would stand up after the 11th and cook a meal or some shit. Probably for somebody else who doesn't even know how.

Male and female brains are wired differently.

Male brains have a lot of connections within each hemisphere, which roughly translates to being good at logical stuff. Video games - any games - are just systems of logic. Female brains have connections between hemispheres, which roughly means that women enjoy socializing/being emotional/less logical things.

The way men and women approach games is also completely different. As a manon, I go to my LGS to play Magic: The Gathering on Fridays because I enjoy playing the game. There are also people there who I like socializing with and spending time with, but that is icing on the card game cake. If a woman were to do the same thing (there are no female regulars at my LGS), she would probably play Magic to have an excuse to go and socialize with her friends. Nothing wrong with that, but it's a completely different use for the game.

That's why men get pissed when women march into traditionally male passtimes like gaming (as in actual gaming, not Angry Birds or MMOs or modern AAA video game bullshit) and demand things be changed. Women, on average, just don't seem to have as much of an appreciation for the core material that brings people together as men do, because women can socialize whenever they fucking feel like it.

And there's nothing wrong with that - different strokes, different folks. But if women can socialize whenever, then they don't exactly need to make the games I love dumbed down, now do they?

At the risk of sounding like a betamax tape, I don't think women realize what a tough time men have just going out and meeting people. Having a common interest is almost essential to men being friends.

If a man plays Mario and beats ten levels, he will feel an exponentially greater sense of satisfaction after each level. A woman doing the same thing will feel a linearly increasing sense of satisfaction, and thus will not get as much of a kick out of playing Mario.

The only person who ever beat me at Medieval 2 Total War is a girl. My little sister likes to complete games at 100% with all the secrets and shit, that sometimes requires a lot of skill. O.K, this is all anecdotal evidence so I can't refute you, all I say is that if a girl plays as often as a guy she will be as good as a guy.

theres other reasons for these phenomena, if they were fact, they wouldnt be broken at every turn by different studies, or real life examples. even fucking AMD's CEO is a woman, and a fucking engineer.

personal anecdote, but to be ignored, i have 3 relatively attractive female friends that run a real D&D group

I love video games, but I know that I'm not as good as my male friends and my husband.

They get all technical and shit, while I play for the fun of it. For example: Super Smash Bros. Our male friends and my husband learned and practiced and memorized stats/tricks/etc and bless his heart for trying but it takes really long for me to register it the power of button mashing! But I love playing with them anyways because it's fun and love spending time with them and enjoying the game itself. It's pretty much the same with LoL, MMO's, and so on.

Someone did mention the whole socialization accept of gaming, which I would have to agree with because my fem friend and I play ACNL and gamecube games together lol

I also have other shit to do like housework, work, and my other hobbies.
