I had it on my backlog in my PS3, just tested it. Sprites were a bit outdated but the playability is oh so good. And the six groove systems, anyone can find at least a decent one.
No.2653
>>2649>Sprites were a bit outdated only capcom's side were especially morrigan. fucking darkstalkers 1 sprite next to a fucking SNK sprite made it look like MUGEN shit

No.2700
>>2666Seriously, they redone Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Chun-Li and Yun. (Kyosuke, Maki and Eagle doesn't count) Why they aren't made all the sprite? The game would be so much better with that…
(that and a general SNK buff, both for characters and grooves)

Get Chankast or nullDC. The Dreamcast versions are better to emulate, same with Marvel 2.

Pls, can someone make a GGPO soft to play MVC2 and CVS2 online, already?
No.3261
>>3253well since fightcade is open source it'll happen sooner on that. the only problem is it is using the outdated FBA because of some bullshit.
No.3294
>>3261GGPO/FBA supports CPS2 boards, not Naomi. Naomi was more of a disc based system and can actually work via some dreamcast emulators. Can even netplay through kaillera, but it's a long shot from good netplay.

I honestly wondered if they made more tournaments about CvS2, Hell why can't they make an online remake. This makes me want to play this game more.
No.5179
>>5178Let's just wait people doing a light Dreamcast/NAOMI emulator and a GGPO client on it.
;_;But I think they can't make a remake because 2 things:
- This game have both Capcom and SNK trademarks, so Capcom needs both permissions to make it. And since Playmore just want to do crappy MOBAs and patchinkos instead of fighting games…
- After Darkstalkers Resurection fiasco, Capcom don't want to make an online remake again.

Man, Darkstalkers Resurrection pretty much killed two things at once, it killed the possibility of a new Darkstalkers, it killed online remakes. ;_; And they didn't even release it for PC, godamnit Capcom.
No.5461

They didn't release any of the Online remakes on PC, 3rd Strike, Jojo or Darkstalkers

Which is a huge shame, they'd likely get a sales boost in sales from it. We have GGPO/Fightcade which are quite good but official ports certainly would make these games more accessible for the average user.

I've a discussion once with a Capcom CM and a journalist about that. They confirmed what I thought.
Capcom blaming the sells of 3SOE, JoJo, MVCO and DSR are pure com. They gives guilt on us for purpose.
But, we've another problem. Playmore gives a price at Capcom for use of SNK characters, to release an online version of CVS2 and probably make a CVS3. But Capcom refuses.
So, the problem 1 is cash, the problem 2 is cash. Way2go, Cap.

The story for years has been SNK won't work with Capcom after they were forced to rush out SNK vs Capcom Chaos

I thought 3rd Online Strike sold well and all the others failed?

>I thought 3rd Online Strike sold well and all the others failed?
Yeah, that's the only one who really worked as a downloadable game for Capcom. The others didn't sell well, but that doesn't explain why they shut down DS4.
No.5510
So /fighters/, N groove or K groove for Rugal/Geese/Yamazaki?
No.5511
>>5510
Pick N and make Yamazaki point. Swap out Rugal for Sagat or something.
No.5512
>>5511
Keeping the team as is though with Iori sometimes and do not care for Sagat. Its just that I have always wondered about practicing with K groove since its suppose to be Geese at its best. While I do need practice with K groove I strongly prefer N groove, and yes I do put Yamazaki on point. The order in the image is just that, an image. Thank you for your opinion.
No.5515
>>5510
Well, Rugal and Geese are breddy gud in K and Yama, gud in N. So, your pick.
If I were you, I'll call K, Rugal in ratio 2 and Yama in first.
No.5517
>>5515
Damn. Now that I realize it Geese and Rugal are good on K even if I dont care for K other wise. Maybe even with Boxer who I've been using on a C groove team with Rock for a while until I saw how amazing he is on K groove.
No.5518

3rd best groove. Even without roll(cancel).
No.5522
why are you guys not talking about Third Strike? OP asked for us to talk about the best 2D fighting game ever.
No.5610
>>5518
Talking about Roll Cancelling, it's sad to see how the lack of practice affects most people's play.
I was watching 37-Reload and pretty much everyone besides BAS (which still actively plays the game) couldn't RC anymore, the rust is real.
The lack of an easy and good online solution really damaged the game survival outside of Japan.
No.5726
I do wanted to main Yamazaki, because he can cancel his Dust kick into his qcb+MP.
No.5727
>>5610
Just the fact that you've a P and some K guys in Top 8.
In Japan, C and A are so dominant, they need to make some K Only or N Only tournament to see other grooves.
Still a shame that you got a game called Capcom VS SNK and the best teams are Cap Only with Cap grooves.

Funny how that works out. In Marvel 2, all the S-tier characters are Marvel, and the only Capcom character to see much play is the assist-only tier Captain Commando.

Cool, more Japanese CvS2 besides a-cho. Man, it makes me really miss the time people were actively playing this game in America - last Evo the side-tourney was cool but depressing at the same time, everyone non-Japanese was so washed up (me included).

That game got its shitty GC-ism, because GC pad are bad for fighting games.
And I think they tried to balance the game and remove Roll Cancels. Probably why people didn't liked it.

>And I think they tried to balance the game and remove Roll Cancels. Probably why people didn't liked it.
Weren't those the two biggest complaints about CvS2? Why would people get upset about their removal?
No.7965
>>7958
Because by then the meta had moved towards using Roll Cancel and many felt removing them removed depth from the game or something.
I wouldn't know, I play CvS2 casually.
No.7971

When I talk about "complaints", I mostly talk about japanese complaints.
I personnaly would love play EO competitively, especially if that can means characters like Kyosuke, Benimaru, Mai or Athena (or every SNK characters) would have been better.
But yeah, just like >>7965 said, the meta was focused on thos flaws. Also, EO was never released in arcades. 2000s was still the time when perfect versions of fighting games must be in arcades. Consoles ports weren't relevant.
