Characters I don't think will be in the initial release of SFV are Abel (Was the 'main character' of IV like Alex was to III, but not as memorable or well received), Dan (Takes up a character slot as a joke character, when there's apparently only ten slots remaining that could be used up by actually eligible fighters), El Fuerte (Not many people want him back), Rufus (The majority doesn't want him back either, as well as Birdie taking his place as the fat guy) and Remy (There's already a soldier character in the game, but Guile at least has some connection to Charlie to make it in). Besides Ken and Akuma for tradition's sake, I feel that other shotos won't make it in either, as the mere sixteen slots would be suitable for including characters with vastly differing fighting styles.

4-5 girls at max : Capcom never went full retard like SNK. One of the four new characters will be a girl ; it was always like that in almost every SF iteration.
1 - Guile : story with Nash, Nash complete overhaul make perfect sense for Guile to remain unchanged and a charge character
8 & 9 : returning from SF3 (we already have two from the Alpha serie)
Urien : gem on forehead, Udon comic, Gill is broken and banned from every tournament while Urien was a fan favorite.
Juri is highly likely too : high in the poll while being a very recent addition. Only bad girl stereotype of the SF universe. Feng Shui engine make a perfect V-trigger. New super (one hit confirm to animation like everybody else right now in SFV) and lack of armor break move will improve her a lot.
For the rest I'm not sure : I wouldn't mind Poison and/or Claw but Sakura and Akuma are extremely likely.

I like the graphics, the music, the presentation the existing characters and the characters to come but the gameplay feels a bit too basic for me. I'm into fighting games for only 3 years now so I'm not a hardcore gosu who should judge but I really miss the freedom I have with other games. SF4 was hell in a lot of aspects, but executing combos was incredibly fun. Of course it had max dmg and BnB combos but you could also make up and use your own combos to a certain extent if you felt more comfortable with them and they did similar dmg. There was always something to practice because it was hard doing stuff you had to do to play your character, especially if you had learn plinking and piano inputs.
All combos in SF5 are basically laid out for you and after max. 1 hour you are a master of your character (execution wise). There is no satisfaction in doing a combo, there is no special technique you have to learn and all characters feel pretty similar in general (mp, mp, special, wew).
Besides that: Online sucks. I don't want to wait 5 minutes for a match and I don't want to spend 5 minutes for loading and point distribution. It sucks.

It was a decision by Capcom to make it less execution-heavy. The lesser focus on combos is to get people to play vs others ala e-sports. That's the path Ono wants to take it. Time to embrace it or move on.
Personally, I'm disappointed because it feels unfinished. I expected a three course dinner but all I got was a steak sandwich.
