Am I the only one who found this movie misandristic?

I haven't seen that yet as I'm trying to watch Ophüls in order. Of course he typically directs stories that are sympathetic to women.

It was more the characterization of the husband and the films unwillingness to show his clearly hinted fears and emotions in relation to his wife cheating on him.

We are told to sympathise only with the wife because she is a character who shows humility and compassion despite both sharing similar guilts.
