No.2801
The passing into a new month – and new year – must be accompanied by a new thread for Film Club. Here we'll nominate candidates to be featured in January on /film/. As before, you're encouraged to submit interesting theme ideas and/or individual titles that you'd like us to watch.
Since the year 2015 brings to mind hoverboards and DeLoreans, one possibility is to focus on films about the future. This concept could lead to intriguing, creative titles. However at this point it's merely a suggestion to (hopefully) get the ball rolling, not an official theme.

Hmm…
Future themed movie is a good idea. What about a theme where the antagonist is the center of the movie and "wins".

What about something along the lines of Baby of Macon? Anything similar to this style of film?
No.2859
Baby of Macon is fine with me. I like it quite a bit. With only one suggestion we can skip the poll.
And since Film Club isn't getting much traction lately, we may give it a rest for a while. Perhaps the routine has become boring. But remember we've amassed several Film Club threads over the past few months which remain open for comments.
No.2860
don't you dare close down film club! IMO, just because some are not active in the threads (hopefully it will change this year, takes time) does not mean the movies are not being watched.
Please keep it alive.

>>2860Also Baby of Macon sounds interesting from the wiki.
What is the name of a German(?) sci-fi movie which looks to be made in the 60's or 70's starring this guy that goes to work for this tech company. I remember him going into some underground cave/club for the rich where he meets some of the people who owns this corporation. Apparently he and some lady (daughter of a scientist?) try to escape. I remember it was a trippy movie. Anyone know the name or recall anything like that.

>>2859Stop making such obscure picks. I haven't managed to locate a copy of The.Little.Match.Girl.1928.DVDRip.XviD-MESS and I've been looking for a couple weeks.
Why can't we just watch foreign films from the past 10 years, which are easy to download / purchase.
No.2868
>>2865Well, we've only been watching what's been suggested and voted on. If you want to watch something in particular, you should suggest it.
And if you have trouble finding something in the future, please ask. :)
For that film, there was a link posted quite early in the thread.

'time travel' makes me think of Resains. Muriel, or The Time of Return could be fitting, it's a more interesting film than it sounds…
