One of the girls I like introduced me to this film the other day. I must say, I really liked it; especially the ending.

Anyone who has seen it: what did you think?

I get the sneaking suspicion Wes Anderson watched this movie once.
I was surprised that this disheveled hippie directed it though. "Hal Ashby" sounds like a neatly dressed Englishman to me. Reminds me I never got around to watching The Landlord
But yeah it's a great film. The commentary track says they cut out an hour of that lady going on and on about her philosophy. Less is more in that case, I think.

Whoa that's the director? Shit I never would have guessed

This film disgusts me for some reason and I have no idea why.

Is it the "teenager fucking an elderly woman" thing? Other than that, I have no idea either, the movie's pretty comfy.

You're not the only one, it's syrupy quirky bullshit.

Basically how I felt about it but I never decided to finish this one.

I can't fault it too much for its insufferable quirky imitators of today. I think it had a unique charm for its time.
