>New gym with trainer and lots of equipment

>Solid Bloke, strong as hell, competed in powerlifting here in hueland

>Made me do 3 sets of 20 in almost every machine to train some hypertrophy in the first week and take note of my results

>Literally puked after squatting on the smith machine after 15 reps using 50% less weight than I'm used to with free weights/barbell for 3x5 56kg on the Smith, 100kg on the normal squat

The fuck is happening brahs? He isn't forcing me to use the smith machine, just to make me adapt to the back squat with it and keep my posture/feet straight, does it's cursed or some shit? I felt like dying afterwards.

TL;DR How to not puke after squatting

How close is your pre-workout meal to your workout session? Also, are you drinking plenty of water throughout?

Try less acidic food in general and don't do smith machines lmao.

I know, I tried 60kg with a barbell after resting and eating well enough for 10 reps and it went OK, I will discuss with the guy in the next day, probably a bad day tho fuck smith machines

>>84690

20 minutes, I went to walk from home to the gym, I drank a lot of water, most of my vomit was liquid because of it.

>3 sets of 20

>hypertrophy

I know, I'm stupid, for me everything above a total of 25 reps is considered hypertrophy work. Again I'm pretty close minded and stupid in that matter

Working out on a completely empty stomach and doing exercises that involve the abs isn't the best course of action either.

I know ;_; I had my breakfast tho, I just threw up when I almost finished the final set.

>>84696

I had my fair share of food and water, I just don't know why I puked in the first place.

 No.84717

Forget about machines in general except for specific isolation exercises, I'm no expert but doing 3x20 on fucking everything seems fucking nuts, dehydration can cause nausea and drowning in water in one go can give you the huehuehueeegggghhhsssssss too. Stay safe.

>>84693

I'm with this guy.

Smith Machine is to atrophy your body in the shittiest way possible.

 No.84718

>>84717

I will keep that in mind in the next day. Smith machines are shite tho, happily I'm only using them for this week I guess

 No.84730

I've never vomited in the gym, but sometimes I come close to it when I eat too much right before lifting. When I feel I'm about to vomit, I skip every isolation, accessory and back off set I planned to do so I can do the serious stuff. But vomit can happen. Drink some gas water, go home and you'll be fine.

Also, 3 sets of 20 reps, wtf? How are you supposed to generate hypertrophy with 30% of your 1RM?

 No.84732

feet straight? you mean straight ahead? not good squat form fam

you should not adapt to using machines, you should adapt to using just the bar

 No.84736

>>84732

Not exactly straight, just pointed a little more straight than before so I can do it naturally without rotating my feet too much to the sides. And I know about the machines, they're evil, I will talk to the guy in the next few days about it, I already stated about training with only the barbell before.

>>84730

Not exactly hypertrophy, resistance I guess but I sincerely don't know, I just know about it being taxing as fuck and I feel sore in the next day.

Avoid Smith's machine's like the fucking plague. It's going to mess with your back and it's not going to help your posture, it's going to severely mess your posture up. I don't care who this guy is, don't let him make you use them.

As for puking, don't work out on an empty stomach. Try cutting acidic food from your diet or eating a tums, that may help if acid reflex was also a factor.
