/fit/ am I fucked for life? my lifts are pretty disproportional compared to my bench and I'm trying to add volume to it but it's still lagging like hell, Does someone here can relate to it?

>>85128

You're not fucked for life. What you need to do is to take a look at what lifts you're stalling at. Once you've done that, make sure to REALLY look at your form. Take a video of yourself doing the lift, or get a buddy to spot you. Once you've found the problem with your form i.e not enough tension in the back during bench press along with elbows flaring out deload and focus strictly on form

You should also take a look at what you eat and make sure it's enough to fulfill your goals.

I'm still noob, so I can correct major problems in form, nutritional wise I'm normal, most of my diet is meat and some milk but not at caloric surplus fat manlet my major problem is bench, I know about 2pl8 in a year, but I'm doing this for 3 months and I can feel the progress slowing, the other lifts including the overhead press are ok, I don't know why, probably weak upper body, I'm gonna try some skullcrushers or volume triceps work.

 No.85141

>>85133

I would personally recommend doing close grip bench press for the days that you don't do bench. It improved my triceps and bench by a lot in the long run.

 No.85177

Put your bench in overdrive and make it your priority to have it catch up.

Your lifts are fine, you just need to work on your bench press a little bit.

 No.85178

Technically speaking, I benchpress 2*20kg x 4 on a 35kg bar

I squat 2*30kg x 5~6 on a 25kg bar

I deadlifted 2pl8 for the first time this Tuesday for 5 reps Man does it feel good I also deadlifted my bodyweight for about 10 reps which feels awesome

The heaviest OHP was 2*15kg x 4~6 on a 35kg bar

I am 2 months in can't say I am stalling

Where do I stand, /fit/?

Kek, you're pretty good, your upperbody is decently developed I guess, that's why your bench and OHP is that high, you need to work on that Squat tho. Although we're not speaking about the heaviest, you still pretty developed for 2 months, I will try to catch up with your OHP lel

35kg bar, wtf?

Why cant you just add weights and post total.

 No.85224

Basically, OHP, Benchpress and Squat or on either of the Smith Machines in the Gym

>inb4 Smith Machine gtfo

It's what I have over here, there's no rack and the coach is pretty strict, same goes for the Gym Owner/other coach

They are making me use the Smith on the Benchpress to get me to stabilize my hands and shit

I use one Smith Machine for the sole purpose of squatting, the other for BP and OHP, which is why the Bar is 35 damn Kgs

And yeah, it feels good, quite the development from back when I couldn't lift the empty barbell properly

And quite honestly, there's not much definition in my upper body, still look like a DYEL except for the arms, the legs however are huge

**benefits of living in the sixth floor with no lift and having to climb that stair up running 5-7 times a day

 No.85233

>>85224

>OHP and Bench on Smith Machine

You need a barbell, seriously, I don't know if the Smith Machine can help or difficult but you're not exactly doing the proper work, otherwise continue doing what you're doing and you will be good.

>They are making me use the Smith on the Benchpress to get me to stabilize my hands and shit

That's so fucking ironic, look for another gym, that gym's for fags

 No.85277

>>85243

I wish there was another legit Gym around, plus, the Gym Owner is a world-class body builder

Y tho?

Did your coach get his license from a crossfit course?

 No.85284

>>85279

That's what I said

I think I'm going to say "fuck it" and work on the weight holder or whatever for benchpress and deload to 1pl8 to get my shit together

As for OHP, I will just play it with free weight as well while also deloading be getting a lighter barbell

I am still doing squats on a smith machine unfortunately, might check some of the other Gyms around, only problem is that they're either blood sucking vampires only caring about your money or fags with low weight in the Gym and no caoch whatsoever

 No.85289

>>85284

If you have a normal bench in the gym, then do it, if you don't have a squat rack then I recommend doing Zercher Squats or Hack Squats, you can clean the barbell with Overhead Press, just need some practice.

 No.85293

>>85289

>Zercher Squats or Hack Squats

Shew the coach/gym owner a video of the Zercher squats, told me it's a good way to put a load on my tendons and fuck my shit up, plus that 90% of /fit/ think it's a one-way ticket to snapcity

As for hack squats, they just look like shitty deadlifts, really

Might incorporate them into my routine and see

 No.85295

>>85293

You can perform the Zercher without any problems in your tendoms, they probably become stronger, just don't go full retard and try a 1RM, also, for the Snapcity thing, it's because the lower back neutrality, which is strange, because I feel nothing doing it and I can perform a back squat without any problems at all too.

 No.85300

>world-class body builder

He doesn't sound like it, if he was one while using the smith machine then he was roiding his ass off.

 No.85505

Went to the gym in the night shift today, shoulder day and did the OHP with free weights, it dropped around 20 goddamn Kgs but I feel better, I guess one of the main problem was my inability to clean more than 45 kgs (couldn't clean 55)

But, apparently, the bar I have been using for Deadlifts (Which I used fir OHP today) isn't 20 Kgs, it's 35, accoarding to the Gym owner

Which puts an extra 15 Kgs to the 2pl8 I mentioned before, which means I deadlifted 115kg

>feelsgoodman.jpg

And for some reason, there's a 35kg bar in the gym, and I am the sole user of it

Also, tomorrow should be leg day (if not extremely tired due to travel) and I am going to do the goddamn Hack squats, they might look like shitty deadlifts but they are safer and should help my goddamn grip strength

Also, it's such a relief knowing that if shit hits the fan and I drop the bar, it's just hit the ground and not crush my spine

Frontloaded squats are out of question for a while now as I can't fuckin clean the weight I squat

Anyone know any ways to increase the weight of my clean (exercises and shit) other than the ingenious answer, incorporating cleans in my workout (Where should I incorporate them into splits btw?shoulder, back or just do them for warm-ups or some shit twice a week?)

>tfw replaced Smith machine squats with free weight hack squats today

>tfw everyone in the gym kept going "omg Anon you should do regular squats on the smith machine before hurting yourself"

>tfw almost fucked up on my first rep and could have seriously got hurt (lost balance and fell on my back/butt)

>tfw couldn't add any more to my squat because of shitty grip strength

>feels bad man

>tfw I overcame the smith machine

>tfw didn't need to deload any weight

>tfw finally did free weight squats

>tfw those gym rats are probably afraid of my gainz

>tfw hack squatted my body weight for 2*10 today

>feels good man

Weight? also, muh nigga, you will get a good deadlift in no time doing hack lifts.

 No.85709

>>85691

85 Kgs, I just hope I get DOMs tomorrow, my legs feel normal and I couldn't squat heavier or any lower due to the fact that the bar was slipping (my hands basically formed some sort of retarded hook where the bar was hanging during last 5 reps or so of 30)

 No.85710

>>85709

I also did leg presses and a couple of other machines that do even more isolation, so I guess that should be balanced, no?

A-am I gonna make it?

That's fine, I suggest doing heavy sets of 3x3 or 2x5 or even singles like 10x1 instead of 2x10, since it resembles more a deadlift than a squat itself, and yeah, you will get some dooms in the process. I suggest high volume with less weight to train your grip, both in the hack lift and deadlift Good Job thogonna make it
