>Hello muh friend. I'm going to pretend you didn't call me an asshole and I will try to help you.
Thanks! You said that the machine I have to work with was "womanish," so I threw you the word. It's all in good banter.
I wouldn't say I'm too self conscious for a jog, and I've actually done so, but the appeal to a machine for me is that I can just sit inside and go hard for a few hours without having to make routes outside and worry about water, a way to stop, music, etc. It may seem minor, but I'm really trying to just grind out cardio in my home. I actually really like swimming, so its a bummer I don't have a nearby pool.
>Aim for ten minutes running or swimming without a rest. Then eleven, twelve, etc. Build up incrementally but keep doing it.
This sounds good, seems like the general method of exercise but for some reason I never consciously thought about a build-up in cardio.
>Try to exercise three times a week. Every day will be too much and you'll get tired and give up.
Only three times a week for cardio? Hmm, alright.
>You HAVE to stop eating shit like candy, cookies, ice cream, pizza and all that because it isn't food. It does you no good, gives you insulin spikes which make you tired and give you mood swings, affects your sleep negatively and yes make you gain fat.
I read about this in the sticky and it explains a lot, but its been really hard for me to build a good diet for myself. Its especially hard to resist that shit when I work at a pizza place.
>Fat in food is good for you, sugar NEVER good. Remember that.
Duly noted.
>Try to eat something green or red with every meal. A handful of salad leaves, a few tomatoes, a bell pepper, some broccoli or kale. Just eat it raw if you can. Or steam it.
The trick is planning meals out properly. What do you usually have in a day?
>Don't eat anything that comes in a box with a picture on it.
I don't think you realize what you just said to an American, since you live in Britain. Everything is labeled like this. But, I know what you're saying.
>NEVER WHITE BREAD EVER AGAIN.
picrel
>Martial arts makes you confident. It makes you motivated. A good dojo is full of people who will encourage you and be your faithful friend. I'd suggest judo.
This sounds like good advice, but I have to do so much other shit that it would be impossible for me to incorporate this into my schedule as of now. I'll sleep on it, though.
>Cold water swimming builds your white blood cell count giving an immune system boost. Of course it burns fat faster, too.
I gotta get my sleep schedule on track before I do cold baths, but I actually like this sort of thing so I'm taking notes.
>Perhaps you went too far with your lifts.
Idk what it was, man, I just couldn't do it. It was really disorienting, and I feel like I need to get to a better base level with squatting and aerobics before I dive into lifting.
>Just get good form. Seriously.
Exactly.
>Just start low. Keep going. Try to do ten minutes of cardio 3x a week to begin with. 20 plus is ideal if you ask me. Keep upping the intensity, duration and weight IN VERY SMALL INCREMENTS and you'll make it.
I'm actually surprised you didn't suggest more, but I'll start scheduling my routines.
Thanks for the advice! I look forward to, hopefully, talking about how I made it a year from now.
