>implying you can get any gainz at all without my repackaged cheese byproduct

 No.88460

I don't care if beta-alanine doesn't work, it makes my skin feel like it's on fire and I lift heavier because of it

 No.88540

Creatine and pre-wrokout is all I need. Protein powder is a waste because you can't absorb all of it.

 No.88547

>>88540

It IS just a meme right? I tried protein powder for a while and noticed literally no difference. Solid food is the only way to gain weight like that.

 No.88555

noobs have to go through the "supplement" phase to realize they're all trash

takes time tho

 No.88643

>>88460

> And you know for a fact there is no long term side effects

 No.88644

>>88555

The only reason people go through that phase is because they are told they need to. What you should do is diet and exercise properly and then see if you need supplements only after a long time of doing that.

So is this the dedicated faggot thread?

i heard something about a dedicated faggot thread?

>>88719

But I would still recommend seeing if you can cut it out, because it's not like medical opinion can't change. There are other ways to make yourself lift heavier.

That being said, if someone I trusted heavily told me that beta alanine was okay (like a 70 year old family friend who was into weightlifting from teenage years and had been taking beta alanine), then I would probably go ahead.

You eat meat and do other shit that harms your body and doesn't benefit you in any way but beta alanine is no no.

 No.88868

So..Is Protein powder really a scam? Cuz I use it every day to help meet my 150g protein a day mark I need.

It'd help me a bit financially if its fake I guess.

 No.88870

>>88454

Whey Protein works bretty good. Creatine is just for recovery. Take vitamin C for allergies.

 No.88874

>>88868

It's not a scam if you'd rather take a protein shake when you're out and about rather than carrying tuperwares of premade meals. I wouldn't be surprised if the autist who made this thread does this >>88540

>Protein powder is a waste because you can't absorb all of it.

Source? Are you implying the body only absorbs a finite amount per sitting? Then you are correct but the body digests solid food the same way. If anything whey is absorbed better because half the digestion process is done.

 No.88879

>>88547

It depends, protein powder isn't all created equal, but studies have found that whey protein isolate and soy protein isolate (Which contains no phytoestrogens. Calm the fuck down.) are better at building muscle than other types of protein.

My post workout shake is whey protein and corn syrup. The sugar in corn syrup is almost entirely glucose. (This is NOT high fructose corn syrup, which is bad for you.) It gives a good insulin spike, and since I've started doing it I do seem to be getting better gains.

Is it necessary for gains? Not at all.

IDK why you would assume I eat meat, actually for your information I am technically a vegetarian 3-4 days of the week. I try to get most of my protein from beans, etc, mainly since it's cheaper. But even if I did eat meat everyday, yes, I would consider that safer than taking beta alanine for no reason just because it "made my skin feel on fire."

Just out of curiousity, what is your source on vitamin c for allergies?

>>88868

First, really consider long and hard if you really are unable to get the recommended amount of protein from a healthy diet. For me that answer is no. I also think you don't need premade meals in tupperware, rather you would want snacks like fruit and/or nuts throughout the say. I think the idea of spacing your meals out like that is a myth.

Plus, I have found that it's actually not that convenient for me to make protein shakes anyways, mainly because it's hard to clean the mixer and the bottle spills easily so you can't bring it to the gym anyways. I would rather eat a piece of fruit. If you can find a sugar free and additive free protein then it's probably okay, but most aren't. Plus, the mere fact that protein powder is heavily processed is a downside - history has shown us that all refined and/or processed foods fuck you up.

If you really wanted to increase your protein for the day, you could simply eat a snack of peanut butter, cottage cheese, beans, or eggs - basically anything you can cook up in a few minutes.

Scooby, is that you?

 No.89033

>>89028

Nope, he doesn't have time for those who would rather listen to young pups like Mike Chang, Jeff Seid, Elliot Hulse and other scam artists.

Mike Chang, Jeff Seid, Elliot Hulse being supplement shills, I presume?

I Second this, Scooby is awesome for advice in general but he acts like everyone is old and fucked up somehow, either way still a great source of info in general.

I just drink a chocolate protein shake after each workout. Works fine for me.

Seeing as scooby himself is old, it makes sense that he would gear his advice towards other old people.
