How did you learn to do Chin Ups? Or, how did you get from A to B? Any good workouts to help get your body prepared to get there? If I can't get there before the end of the coming summer, I'm a failure by my standards or am I shooting too high? (I can do one inch chin ups three times at the moment.)

I just do lat pulldowns. As a manlet I'm afraid of jumping for the bar and not reaching it.

>How did you learn to do Chin Ups?

I was 310 pounds, now I'm 226 pounds. I went up to the bar one day and thought, "I wonder if I can do a chinup", and then I did a chinup. I still can't do a pullup though, different movement.

I'm assuming your a fatty. As a hungry skeleton pull ups come easy to me because I'm light and nimble like a samurai.

I use one of them reebok steps m8. Chins are very very very very good exercises. Do them. They are good.

I could do them when fat. Also OP, just do fucking lat pulldowns and then go for negatives, where you lower yourself down. Also, chin ups are easier, so it shouldn't take long.

I did jump chin ups, in which you jump and grab the bar at B position, then you slowly drop your body. Now I can do 10 hang wide grip chin ups.

The first time I tried walk the planks, I fucked my shoulder up pretty bad. Not to mention all the times I almost fell off the chair while going up. I got scared and turned to weights instead to build up some muscle before I could do a couple good form chin-ups.

If you do walk the planks, TENSE THOSE MUSCLES BEFORE YOU JUMP. It's the difference between a good exercise and a bad time.

I never allowed myself to become a weak fatass

I was always able to do pullups.

Find a tree or something and study under it.

Every 20 minutes or so do 5 pullups, not one after the other, but do at least 5 before you stop.

Keep going until you can do 10, then go to the gym and hold 10lb in your legs and go up in weight.

Get lats.

Many people starting can't do more than one chinup with good form. It's nice if you start out as Mr. Skeltal but fatties and old people need a better way to train than "flail and kick and maybe get a half-chinup".
