So I finally found a way to always set a PR. Every session you add some weight to your 1RM. And the cool thing is: I'm always excited about a lift, because, unless you have poor nutritional habits, you're are going to lift for more reps or heavier than the last session. But how? Just do the last set to fail, brah.

Are you saying that every time you lift you do your 1RM but with a minuscule amount of weight added? And you do this to stay motivated?

No, I wanted to sat that every session I hit a PR, with reps or weights, so my [estimated] 1RM goes up. If I reset, I won't spend several weeks before I can see the same weights again, I set rep PRs on the light weights and when I get up to those heavy weights, I'll be stronger, or at least lift with a better form. It's not a secret method, it's just a way to keep myself motivated.

its called progression its no magical secret

when it takes you months to just add 2kg on a lift then you will know true suffering

>months to just add 2kg on a lift

Does progress actually slows that much? How much you lift?

My lifts are working in mysterious ways. They can stagnate for months, and then explode for a few sessions, then they stop functioning and I have to deload, and then the cycle continues. I'm considering building a clock from it.

this is what I thought initially aswell, but it is indeed the same weight, heck, the bar seems even smaller in comparison

I looked at so many allan thrall form videos etc but I am not getting my weight up, some reps and cleaner form maybe but this progress is too slow

also I am at a constant mindfuck if I should really go 5times a week or only 3-4 times

and no matter what I pick I am disappointed with my decision

pls help

I don't bench as much as you guys (in fact, I don't even bench with a barbell), but I think you should drop the frequency a bit, even if you feel like lifting it, you might not be prepared for another set this week. I remember when I squatted four times a week, my numbers were up and down, even with a ridiculous little volume like 2 sets. And when I started to squat only twice a week, my numbers stabilized, and even my deadlift felt lighter.

I don't even know what to do on offdays if I am not so sore that I really can't go to the gym

I really, really want to believe that you can workout everyday if you sleep & eat enough, but life has been stressfull the past 6 weeks, maybe that has been the issue why I fucked up

Hermann Görner did work out every day, as far as I know. It was pretty light-intensity though, meaning a session took four hours and was quite chill.

I want to lift in a gym that serves beer while getting advice from Arthur Saxon on my bent press for fucks sake ;_;
