How do you eat your oats, /fit/?

I eat mine raw.

Fuckineh. Raw all they way. Nothing ruins oats like cooking them into oatmeal.

I use milk, just like if it was cheerios. I might throw in some honey or jam if I feel like getting in my carbs for the day early.

I eat the plain oats out of a bowl, with nothing on them, except a bit of sugar when I am in the mood, and just drink a load of water while I am doing it.

 No.89076

With cold milk, walnuts and an apple.

Having plain oats would be like eating plain bread. What are you doing?

I usually mix oats into meatballs or oatmeat to stretch the meat out a little and get some fiber. If I need snacks you can roll peanut butter and oats together for a quick oat'n nut sort of thing in a pinch.

I would also like to add that plain, unsoaked oats taste delicious, they have a floury, pastry-like taste. When you eat them, they force their way to the front of your mouth, but as long as you gulp plenty of water afterwards, it is pretty clean.

But I still don't know if eating raw, unsoaked rolled oats is a good idea, or if it will eventually fuck my shit up, because I don't trust most cooking websites, but phytic acid could be a genuine problem.

oats and water is disgusting, i did that once when i ran out of milk, absolutely horrid experience.

Boil them in milk, add cardamon, cinnamon, raisins, a bit of molasses and dried apples. Shits delicious. Too bad I'm doing paleo-meme and I can't eat that now.

 No.89145

I put 4 cups of water or so in my rice cooker, bring it to a boil, add in some oats and then keep adding oats in till stirring provides resistance, and then I cover it till it boils, then I turn it to the "keep warm" option and keep it covered a bit more till I feel like eating it.

Then I top it with either blueberry preserves, coconut sugar, and frozen/fresh blueberries, or a few oz of maple syrup.

Basically, 1k+ calories of oatmeal, 200-300+ of pure delicious sugar.

Not if you actually know how to fucking cook them.

If all you do is microwave them, yes, they'll taste like sticky wood. If you cook them properly though they'll be fluffy (or sticky if you use too much water and overcook them) and have a neutral taste in general. Throw some sugar on it and yum.

Stomach played a symphony when I was eating oats for breakfast, I'm not lactose intolerant. Dumped it for eggs 3 and cottage cheese.

>What's wrong with oats for breakfast?

They take extremely long to fully digest, meaning if you eat lunch a few hours later it'll smash into the oatmeal (most likely), especially if there's any fruit in it.

Really just not the ideal for a good start to the day, due to the above as well as it's lack of quick-energy to give you the boost you likely need in the morning (after fasting for hours during sleep).

Wouldn't that be bad for sleeping? in any case i tend to lift a few hours after breakfast and/or lunch sometimes, so my problem tends to be lifting hungry and not with the belly full.
