Skeleton thread?
178cm 60kg skeleton reporting
No.89205
1.78m 63kg here. Started working out 10 months ago, weighing 64kg. Also started counting my calories back then.
Ate 2200 for 3 months -> maintain
2400 for 2 months -> maintain
2600, 2800, finally 3100+ for the last 3 months -> still maintaining weight
(And yes, I'm weighing all of my food.)
I'm looking a lot better now, so I think my noob gains are coming along nicely. It's quite sweet.
'Skeleton' in the context of /fit/ would translate to 'thin beginner' though , right? I not sure why those would need a dedicated thread.
I know I'm still a scrawny faggot by /fit/ standards, but I consider myself unskelyfied already.

Whats the threshold for a 6ft guy to escape skelly and dyel mode?
No.89219
>>89214
Dunno, I'm 6ft and started at 65kg, fell to 60kg at my lowest while losing fat and I'm now 71kg.
I'm still skinny, I doubt I'll ever be able to consume the amount of shit I'd need to maintain a huge bod but I'm tighter and stronger and able to dance my man-chest and my lats are looking nice.
Probably another couple of stone of muscle would do the trick 13/14 maybe, so 85kg-ish at a guess provided it's mostly muscle.

I'm 16 years old, they say people in my age gain weight almost instantaneously at some point during this years. Well, I'm still waiting.
Is gomad an alternative?
No.89233

At that weight you had better have started GOMAD. Eat 2500kcal a day and do GOMAD on top of that like it's meant to be. Only stop when you get to a good weight.
needless to say, you should be doing heavy squats three times a week also

Hey guys, I tried to do gomad some time ago. But I have a huge problem. It's not that I can't get enough milk, both my father and grandfather have milk farms. It's that my parents are two fucking gains globins. They freaked out when they found I was drinking four litters of milk a day, it was like the day they found I smoked weed. "You keep listening to those people in the Internet", "you're gonna end up fat", "now you have this bodybuilding compulsive mentality".
So they took me to a nutritionist, who's a kind-of-fatty housewife that gave me a 2200kcal sugar free diet plan. But at least it isn't a trendy low carb shit (I'm eating tons of good carbs btw). You know what? It's working. My lifts are going up and I'm rarely ever hungry. It's not that bad. It showed me how sugar is addictive. Coca cola tastes like God's water when I drink it (like once a month). And my shit smells like watermelon, weird af.
No.89286

Carbs are your best friend along with brotein for lifting my BRo, I'm at the other side of the spectrum tho Fatty and manlet but if you want to gain weight I suggest upping your carb intake and some sugar, and get your carbs before lifting, it will help a lot.
No.89303

The reason that's working is because your basal metabolic rate is auschwitz tier, pic related. Eating 2200kcal/d when your body needs 1600kcal/d means you're still eating a little bit over maintenance so you're still putting on mass.
Explain to your parents that while yes, you will put on a bit of fat, you will also put on a metric fuckton of muscle underneath it and there will never be anything stopping you cutting that fat in the distant future. Right now you're way too small for your height, and that's not healthy.
I would still recommend trying to get as much milk down your gob as you can - especially if you have access to two milk farms - you can't beat the protein content and calories in milk per price point. It's great stuff. If that means two litres a day instead of four, that might still work but it's GOMAD for a reason, not HAGOMAD Half A Gallon, in case you can't work that out
No.89332
>>89303
But if it is already working why would I switch to GOMAD?
No.89334
>>89332
Because it's not a big enough margin to make a significant difference - your bulk will be very slow compared to if you ate 4000kcal/day, where your offset is 2400kcal extra for bulking on top of the 1600kcal you need for maintenance.
To escape auschwitz, you need a whole lot more than an extra 600kcal a day.

I don't understand how anyone, in america at least, can under-eat by accident. Everything in this goddamn country has so much sugar in it and every package that's marketed as a single-person grab bag has 2 or 3 servings inside. A 20oz soda is 2.5 servings, not 1. A candy bar is usually 2 servings. A footlong sub, chips, and drink at subway can easily put you over 1500 calories in one meal. A mcdonalds meal with burger, fries, and drink is usually around 1,000. Shit, if you go to five guys and get a REAL burger, the sandwich alone is 1,200 calories and then they bury it in fries, and they offer fucking milkshakes on top of that.
Do skellingtons not enjoy food? Do they literally have no taste and just eat because they have to in order to continue living? Do they consider meals a waste of their precious time? It's honestly mind-boggling. I understand if you're a third worlder who has to catch diseased rats for dinner and cook them in a lead and asbestos frying pan over a trashcan fire, but literally everyone in the first world who doesn't pay attention to their eating habits should be accidentally fat, logically.

I weigh around 55kg, underweight as balls. I honestly just don't feel like eating that much, but I make the effort to eat more than I feel like. Add to that my diet being low in calories since I don't cook my own food.

I said weight, not muscle. The question is whether or not someone who's taking a daily calorie intake and lifting weights can put on more weight than someone who eats the same but doesn't lift weights.
No.89426
>>89422
There won't be much of a difference in weight, only what makes up the mass - the guy who lifts weights will have more muscle and far less fat, the guy who doesn't lift will have an overabundance of fat.
Think about it - it's simple thermodynamics. If you put in more energy than you get out, you store the excess as fat or muscle. If you put in less energy than you are required to get out, your body eats up fat and/or muscle.

I'm not so skelly anymore but it's like with drugs or alcohol, you learn your limits and get used to staying roughly within them is all. Eating maintenance levels is a default, we have to consciously stuff more in than we know we need and that's…. I dunno a bit perverse almost. I realise this is a concept nigh-on alien to 90% of your countrymen.
There's times when I'm eating a dirty pizza that I will break out in a sweat, my heart-rate leaps and I feel the blood rushing through my face. It's what I'd imagine it feels like just before the crippling chest pains of a heart attack assists one off this moral coil.
I can't take feeling like that more than once every couple of weeks. It's frightening how some people must live in a near constant state of it.
Missed meals is another one, I rarely ate 3 meals a day before I started with all this. When you don't use it you don't need it, or particularly want it.
A skelly can be just as lazy as a fatty, the only difference is the fatty zeroes in on cake while the skelly plays vidya or hobbyfags so much they forget to eat.

Had this impromptu wisdom inplanted in my head during sleep last night: What is the point of getting big as fuarrk when death is just going to steal your gains anyway? Not all that extra food will turn into muscle, if it's not gonna be used as energy or turn into muscle it will turn into fat, 600 extra calories is likely too much and pointless.

the meaning of life is to create your own meaning. it's different for everyone. some are obsessed with leaving a legacy that will be spoken of decades after they die, some want to leave their genetic imprint on the world with children, some want to cruise through life with as little effort as possible and enjoy themselves, and some want to get huge.

Have you ever had to care for an elderly person who couldnt even lift a loaf of bread? Can you imagine getting gains goblined to that point? Wouldnt you try your damnedest to keep yourself from becoming like your up pop confined to a chair for the last 2 years of your life miserable, bitter, and afraid? Chances are most of us will make it to 80, if we keep even one third of what we gain now we will remain mobile and comparatively energetic. The same goes for now too, being strong just improves the quality of life, since you can do more than the plebs.

When people say they are hungry, they usually mean that their stomach is empty. That's not hunger, that's just an empty stomach. We skellingtons don't mind that at all. We wait for the true hunger to hit. The one you feel with your entire being.
I'm a lazy lanky shit. When I eat an entire pizza, I sometimes don't have another proper meal for up to 24 hours after.
