I'm not sure how optimized it is, but due to the engine's design (octree-based) it should be able to hold almost infinitely large maps and still perform just as well.
I'm just a bit worried about how would organic environments look in that engine. In theory, voxel-based engines do look more organic and life-like than traditional vertex engines. Erosion (OP's pic) looks like it would do the trick with a bit more of work.
Anyway, if the engine's modding capabilities are good enough I could see some kind of Blockscape (
