A classic for anyone seeking to understand what happened to the Soviet Union from a Marxist perspective. Especially recommended for MLs and anyone who maybe lukewarm on the question of Kruschev/Deng (Porky's favorite communists :D)

The author combines a deep knowledge of Marxism with many different and hard to find sources from the Cold War era. Probably a decent work for sharpening the economics skills of comrades frustrated by Capital.

I don't think you're in any position to take education seriously if you think there is ever such a thing as an apolitical or unbiased education - most especially when it comes to any form of historical or social education.

Manipulation and dishonesty would be the pretense of objectivity, as such a thing is impossible. Better to be upfront about our angle and our theoretical basis, than to educate people through a false pretense of neutrality.
