We sail from the coast of California towards Hawaii. We pick a spot in the Pacific closest to an inhabited island but still in international waters.

We drop a line and sound the bottom, then set a buoy. Ideally using recyclable materials since it isn't intended to be permanent. Just a way to park a couple of boats short term while we commence to build a floating island.

Our floating Island Nation is initially a barge made of ferrocement an floatation foam. Three tubes of ferrocement filled with floatation foam, with a deck of ferrocement made on an unoccupied shore of the nearest island and towed to the buoy. Where a flag is raised.

Once in place we can use scrap steel to construct flotation spheres. Solar panels attached to each sphere will induce the sea-crete process. This gives us zero rust for all submerged steel and a platform for cultivating coral.

Flotation foam can be utilized for redundancy.

The connected spheres will create a floating harbor where mangroves will be cultivated inside and on the perimeter. Again utilizing scrap steel a false bed will be created under the slowly expanding island, somewhere between 50'-150' for aquaculture.

Scrap vessels can be incorporated into the structure utilizing the sea-crete method, as long as they are made of steel. If the organization is non-profit this provides free structure and a tax write off for those donating used cargo ships.

For issues of sovereignty we negotiate w/a U.S. based Native American nation to fly their flag, since they are sovereign nations, and therefore we bypass all the b.s. of starting a new nation.

Income is based on tourism and advertising.

The society is based on the Mandalorian model in the star wars universe, including the language.

The island is eventually free floating, utilizing diesel engines running biodiesel, and or syngas from waste, following a simple circuit in international waters.

For reference:

"Biorock technology arose from experiments in the 1970s when Hilbertz was studying how seashells and reefs grow, by passing electric currents through salt water. In 1974, he found that as the salt water electrolyzes, calcium carbonate (aragonite) combines with magnesium, chloride and hydroxyl ions to slowly accrete around the cathode, eventually coating the electrode with a material similar in composition to magnesium oxychloride cements and as strong as concrete. Over time cathodic protection replaces the negative chloride ion (Cl-) with dissolved bicarbonate (HCO3-) to harden the coating to a hydromagnesite-aragonite mixture with gaseous oxygen evolving through the porous structure. Later experiments showed that the coatings can thicken at the rate of 5 cm per year. As long as current flows, the structure continues to grow and strengthen. It can heal itself if damaged, making it particularly useful as a replacement for concrete in hard-to-access locations. High levels of dissolved oxygen make it particularly attractive to marine organisms, particularly fin fish."

Further reference about larp purpose:

"Here's why you can't exterminate us, aruetii. We're not huddled in one place—we span the galaxy. We need no lords or leaders—so you can't destroy our command. We can live without technology—so we can fight with our bare hands. We have no species or bloodline—so we can rebuild our ranks with others who want to join us. We're more than just a people or an army, aruetii. We're a culture. We're an idea. And you can't kill ideas—but we certainly can kill you."

-Larp qoute

Simplified view of culture without dependence on outside influence. Like an evolved version of the French Foreign Legion.

Reference: Passive Refrigeration and Climate Control and Stirling Cycle energy

The heat pipe can be utilized by accessing the thermal layer. The icy ball through the use of convex mirrors for solar heat.

Stirling engine is pretty straight forward generator utilizing refrigerant cycle.

Heat pipe and icy ball are not machinery dependent apart from initial manufacture. Technically you could make functional equivalents of both using only pvc pipe and glue/solvent. A byproduct of this passive refrigeration and climate control in a humid environment is condensate. Fresh water to feed your crops, growing on your ferocement barges, w/the soil being fed by your compost.

This is about as fringe as it gets. A workable plan to create an independent society on the planet.

I look forward to hearing from others who share my interests in creating a truly egalitarian Mad Max style floating utopia on the ocean.

Think of an iceberg. A giant city state where most of it is submerged/protected cruising perpetually. Engines running off of harvested hydrogen from the ocean. No waste. Even making money from converting coastal city waste through plasma arc disposal.

And using a made up language to communicate.

What are you going to do about defense from pirates?

A well armed society is a polite society. One of the reasons for using the Mando model.

Another useful model from fiction is the Freeman in Frank Herbert's Dune Universe.

It's individual sovereignty as a key component and as the driving force behind the whole idea.

In Star AWars the Mando's are mercenaries who understand and use technology but take pride in maintaining a luddite society. Simple farming, blacksmithing. Their entire society is just an idea, individual sovereignty prized above all else.

In that vein, the stainless steel shotgun is the primary weapon of choice and required carry for everyone. Low penetration with shot, and range/knockdown power with slugs.

>>126998 continued:

Also there is Anzio arms, who manufactures 20mm rifles.

A stainless steel pintle mounted model would be seaworthy. A couple of them mounted would make a very safe island.

Low Density Floatation Foam. Can be purchased in a 2 part 110 gallon kit for $4800 providing about 550 cubic feet.

Q. I’m making a pontoon boat from empty 55 gallon drums. How much floatation foam do I need?

A. Each 55 gallon drum requires about 8 cubic feet of urethane foam. Since each cubic foot weighs two pounds, you will need 16 pounds of foam per empty drum. Therefore, it will require about one gallon kit (makes two gallons) per drum.

Q. Can I brush or spray the liquid foam onto a vertical wall to provide a uniform thickness of insulation foam?

A. No, the liquid foam will just run to the floor, then rise. You will have a big blob of foam on the floor. It is NOT a sprayable foam.

Q. Is this flotation foam compatible with styrofoam?

A. Yes. It will not “eat” or dissolve styrofoam. If you have a large cavity to fill, you can put some chunks of styrofoam in the cavity to save foam.

Q. How do I know how much foam I need to float my boat?

A. Get your calculator ready, you will need it. A cubic foot of polyurethane will float about 60 pounds of “dead weight”. The wood parts of your boat will probably float, so you don’t need flotation foam to offset that weight. The fiberglass parts of your boat will barely sink, so you really don’t need much foam to offset the fiberglass- maybe one cubic foot of foam per two hundred pounds (or more) of fiberglass hull. The metal parts of your boat are what you really need to account for. A small (4-6hp) outboard may weigh 45-55 pounds. A 50hp outboard will weigh about 200 pounds.

So a 16 foot fiberglass skiff with a 50 horse outboard will need about six cubic feet of urethane foam to keep it afloat. A 12 foot plastic kayak will only need one cubic foot. A 30 foot fiberglass sailing sloop with a diesel engine and lead keel would need about 150 cubic feet of foam. Actually, very few 30 foot keelboats have positive foam flotation, but it’s not out of the question- especially when you consider all of the air pockets that would exist, as well as all of the wood interior components that provide some positive flotation.

Q. Do I need to paint or fiberglass over the floatation foam?

A. You probably should. Polyurethane will absorb a small amount of water, because some of the the cells are open (95%+ are closed, though). Painting or glassing will seal the foam and prevent any water absorption. However, it really shouldn’t be necessary unless the foam is constantly immersed in water, such as in a boat with bilges that are always wet. The foam is not UV resistant, so it must be painted if exposed to sunlight.

Q. Is the polyurethane foam resistant to fuel, oil, and solvents?

A. Mostly yes. It is resistant to splashes of gasoline and diesel fuel, although it will absorb a small amount because no pourable foam can be guaranteed to be 100% closed cell. A strong solvent such as acetone or toluene would eventually break the foam down, but it would take a long time.

Q. What is the maximum exothermic temperature that cured polyurethane foam can reach?

A. 250 degrees F.

Q. What is the maximum surface temperature that cured polyurethane foam can withstand before it begins degrading?

A. 200 degrees F. The foam does not ignite. Under high heat and direct flame, it will char like wood. The foam will break down with continued exposure to excessive heat/flame. The damaged area can be repaired by removing the damaged portion and pouring new foam into the void.

I've been involved in the micro-nationalist community for a number of years now and the Polyurethane foam idea for an island is a fantastic one but there are several issues here.

There is no justifyable reason behind doing this.

There is no one who will take a mandalorian fucking state seriously, thats LARP tier.

Native Americans are DEPENDENT nations, they are de-facto United States and in international waters, they are effectively, American. In International Waters you can do whatever you want, no need for that bullshit.

And you won't need excessive amounts of protection from pirates unless you set up at the South China Sea or the Somalian Coast.

Good for a bit of ideas for a legitimate state this thread is, but this Mandalorian thing is retarded.

Also aerogel is cheaper and better

>I've been involved in the micro-nationalist community for a number of years now and the Polyurethane foam idea for an island is a fantastic one but there are several issues here.

>There is no justifyable reason behind doing this.

It would be fucking cool. That is a justifiable reason for me.

>There is no one who will take a mandalorian fucking state seriously, thats LARP tier.

Kind of at a loss on this one. I don't know how to dumb down the concept of freedom and the use of a model.

>Native Americans are DEPENDENT nations, they are de-facto United States and in international waters, they are effectively, American. In International Waters you can do whatever you want, no need for that bullshit.

They are sovereign nations within the United States. Domestic and dependent, but still sovereign nations apart from the United States. Again, I don't know how to dumb this down for you, but they are indeed capable of being independent nations apart from the United States. They pre-existed the U.S. and are recognized as such in the U.S. Constitution.

>And you won't need excessive amounts of protection from pirates unless you set up at the South China Sea or the Somalian Coast.

Again, a well armed society is a polite society.

>Good for a bit of ideas for a legitimate state this thread is, but this Mandalorian thing is retarded.

It's a model/pattern to follow. A template to lay the ground work for organic growth.

It would be a free floating pirate bay. A Switzerland on the ocean. A place for stateless people and those who value individual sovereignty over herd acceptance.

Try reading the first post >>126932 in Keanu's voice.

That might help with the dissonance.

"it would be cool"

dope ass reason for making a country bud

"I don't know how to dumb down the concept of freedom and use of a model" then you have no place in building a fucking state

>i know its hard to dumb down for u but they are indeed capable of being independent natiosn apart from the united states and pre-existed the u.s and are recognized

are you retarded? Under international laws you have to obey the laws of whatever nation you DO have a flag of over you, Which is why people use Tuvalu as a flag of convenience not the native americans who don't have maritime laws and laws severely limiting outsiders, aka, everyone on your retarded ship, which you CAN be charged for under U.S law if you break those laws.

have fun convincing ANYONE to break laws moving to your tard ship, breaking laws by having massive sums of weapons, etc etc, because you "think it would be cool"

Might is right as proven by everyone even the priest who knows God is mightest of all.

So what's stopping you?

Why the might of everyone else who will oppose you.

You're going to need a space program and a means to defend yourself from all potential threats.

Using recycled parts from bits and pieces of felled and ill-recovered rocked parts from spacex mislandings we can in time make an agency comparable to at least india. Secrecy is our only armor however and if I know about this plan you've already failed.

>You're going to need a space program

Doubtful. This Earth is clearly in a containment. Might is more than just having a weapon. It's more mental than anything else. The true fight is always in the mind.

The prison without walls. Like the Lion sleeping in an open cage. Secrecy is for faggots and the illuminatti.

you have my respects may success spring forth out from your fingertips

I don't think it is a novel idea. It is expressed in the Captain Nemo meme and probably in other memes long forgotten through history.

I think at this point the greatest outcome would be just the realization and individual acknowledgement that this would be a preferable outcome versus the grey goo existence of conforming to accepted society.

anyone have a theoccult.click

Man you don't know what you're talking about.

Don't bother, it's an elitist circlejerk of the worst kind.
