[Rules] [Moderator Log] [FAQ] [Fringe Guide] [Ranks] [/fringe/] [/asatru/] [/edgy/] [/4chon/] [/lel/] [/ask/] [Fringechan]
The rules are simple and only apply to the creation of threads on /fringe/:
1. No duplicate threads of topics that already exist unless the previous thread has hit the bump limit.
2. No making threads just to ask questions, actually present substantial information if you're going to make a thread.
3. No creating new threads purely to no-effort shitpost (you will be forgiven if it's a major GET).
4. Post threads that fall under the subject matter of /fringe/ (creepypasta FYI generally does not fall under /fringe/'s very broad subject matter, look at the sticky to see what subjects we discuss on /fringe/).

I'm tired of wading through shit books that spout nonsense all the way through that clearly show they're written by uneducated fucks for uneducated fucks. They don't even pretend they're well read outside of their small circle and it shows… It's sad, but also infuriating.

It's been years of hard work and self-delusion and I'm about to call bullshit on all things magic.

How do you use magic in your lives? How has it affected you in big ways? Why isn't there such proof anywhere, at all, of esoteric bullshit being anything else than that?

Cmon, tell me how you use magic every day for "small things", or how it has "subtly affected your life". Nobody has ever had their life changed by magic in a meaningful way. Nobody has gotten out of poverty with it or anything major like that. It's all self-delusion.

Please prove me wrong. I have a very open mind, but it's been too long without anything but proof of how all this is bs.

There's more than a handful of these threads in the catalog right now, and you felt special enough to warrant making your own.

Why should I prove you wrong? What have you done to deserve to be spoonfed without having to read anything yourself? You come to this board with a bad attitude and demand that we give you reason for you to do something that would cost you no money and little effort.

You say you spent years doing hard work, but you still have doubt. You've learned nothing in those years. Yet they're not a waste. You've learned that what you were doing did not work. Read the FAQ and start over. I'm assuming you tried chaos magick because of your picture? Stop working with chaos magick and find another system.

I will not try to persuade you to keep working. Either get reading or leave.

I've tried many systems (chaos magick was what I first found through Erisianism). I've had mild success with divination and I'm a natural with astral projection (that is what initially got me looking for answers).

The problem is nothing I've experienced in almost 20 years of reading everything that I've found can't be explained by confirmation bias, self delusion or other rational reasons without the need to go looking into the paranormal.

Don't show any proof if you don't want to. I'm not doubting you. I'm just asking for help, because I'm at a point where blind faith is the only thing left.

There is never anything hard. Nothing is ever phrased in terms of action and reaction. It's psychosis, mate. It's a pattern of vague to vague. Never defining one or the other.

The legit part that I've been looking for, and never found here, is psycho-technical exercises for state management. Basically how to maintain or recall a frame of mind and the like. Or how to encode a pattern of behaviour into yourself (rituals but not the stupid funky shit).

Some niggers believe there's something more than a bunch of neurons firing, but they have no reason to believe that outside of their delusions. It's frustrating. Most people are corrupted in this way as seen by the vastness of religious masses.

I made a couple of posts here but the other faggot here doesn't seem much inclined to my way of things.

Blind faith is, essentially magick. Because magick is based on belief. The laws of this world say that you cannot deconstruct them. Will that stop you?

When you have doubt in your mind, nothing will work. You must gain control over your lower self, your personality, and be able to change your beliefs to anything. Decide to make yourself believe you are communist, and then truly believe it. Believe you are a nazi. Believe that you're great at dreaming, then believe that you're terrible at it. Rule your mind, do not let it rule you.

Have you read Prometheus Rising? It addresses the same "self delusion" and "confirmation bias" that you mention.

I love Robert Anton Wilson and I've read almost everything he published. However he suffers from the same problem as many esoteric and counter-culture or new-age thinkers do: they try to use hard science in order to prove what they're talking about and end up writing misleaded nonsense that makes any scientist who has actually studied those things cringe.

RAW manages a bit better because he was very intelligent, and relies a lot on the absurd and not taking himself too seriously. But he does from time to time, and ends up entangled in the same pseudoscience.

Your reliance on the systems and work of others is what causes you to fail. Closed-systems have power because of the intent fed to them by either one or many people. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but most "hocus-pocus," is not easily attained and takes many years of hard labor and study before one can consistently produced desired results. That being said, learn to manipulate your own subjective experience, and stop viewing it as "magic," or anything supernatural. Focus on small things first, and work your way up.

>Tell me how you use magic for "small things"

I can influence things like probability, I can foresee upcoming events and progressions, by focusing energy in one point for long enough, I can cause objects to move, and I can manipulate weather, provided I've saved up enough energy.

>Nobody had their life changed by magic

Tell that to someone who, after invoking Goetian spirits, had a succubus read his mind, try to get him thrown in jail for something he didn't do, and then have your best friend who invoked the spirits lose his mind and kill himself by wandering out into the wilderness for unknown reasons a month later that. Or, on a positive note, how they managed to save their own life through creating a work of incredible good that anchors me to this dimension.

My advice? You're looking in all the wrong places. Don't have such an open mind your brain falls out, but don't give up searching. It is a continual process.

Although I very much doubt anyone will ever post evidence of these kind of claims, thanks for this post. It's the kind of advice I'm looking for.

Telekinesis, wind control, some water ripple effects, other cool physical tricks, like having a feather on a string, and commanding it to stick to different fingers, magnetism.

Thats the obvious ones. Learned to close off incoming energy, from people that I don't want to let in and exchange energies. Could see their frustration as they try to get in.

Seriously, regarding the physical things, just choose one trick to master, and spend months on it. Its not that hard. It will give you some proof that this shit is real.

But don't get me wrong, its subtle, and it takes tons of time to master it.

For me personally, after many years o dealing with depression and anxiety and general confusion, I now actually know exactly what to do to do what I want.

I am reconfiguring my habit patterns from the bottom up. Using archetypes and other stuff to help with that. Plugging in energy leakages and so on.

I think the reason why you are upset is that the main stream idea of magic is flawed on many levels.

First of all, it assumnes that the first month that you learn about magic, you should be able to manifest a million bucks and levitate. Complete bullshit, for many reasons. First of all, it takes much longer to master this stuff.

More importantly, people don't understand how deep their subconcious beliefs run.

They try to do some shitty sigil for something, money or whatever, when they have deep underlying fears about being poor and stuff. And they wonder why it does not work.

I would recommend figuring out the fears and disapointmens that you have and use various tools and stuff to first get in to a state of confidence and no doubt. This is the key to any magical operation, and most overlook it for surface level tricks.
