OP clearly asked specificly about Dreamkeepers
He just started a patron a few days ago with the goal of working full time, something i would love to do but i dont feel the rewards are worthwhile for my money. There is already a thread over on /co/ http://8ch.net/co/res/496238.html

It's alright.
Writing is kind of meh.
The art can be pretty shit at at some points as well, though usually it's good enough to look at.
Sometimes there's so much going on in a panel that it's hard to tell what you're looking at, like one of those Where's Waldo books.
Some of the character designs are pants-on-head retarded and super edgy though, so if you can't handle that shit at all then stay away.
I'm sticking with it to see if it improves, though as soon as they pull some SJW shit or try to go full retard with grimdarkness I'm dropping it immediately.
Also, prepare to have your thread shit on hardcore.
There are people who hate Dreamkeepers with a burning passion.

One of my favorite webcomics of all-time, Endtown, doesn't exactly have better art, but the writing is surprisingly great. Indeed, it's one of the most engaging comics I know of, even when it has no sexual and sometimes dives into some weird sci-fi mini-arcs that can honestly be kinda boring. It's also surprisingly dark at times, despite what the four-panel, black-and-white newspaper layout depicting fuzzy animal people might lead you to believe.
Started on a 5-per-week schedule, but the creator had to cut back to M-W-F after health issues arose. Still, it's been running since 2009, so there's somewhere around 1400 strips (more or less, I'm not sure exactly how much it is). Takes about a day or so to read all the way through, depending on how fast you are at that. Totally worth it, though

Well, he did a fine job at making anthros without being a furry. And, I'm sure Liz had some interactions with the fandom before she and Dave hooked up to collaborate on it, so she probably was an influence on the anthro designs as the art improved.
Intentional or not, I'm willing to bet that a large majority of their readership are furries just because of the characters. So, we might as well consider it a furry comic until they start advertising to other sources.
No.482860

Liz was at least aware of furries. I think that's how dave found out about it. I heard this in some interview ages ago. Not sure how involved she was with furshit if at all.
> a large majority of their readership are furries
The biggest fans certainly are. Which is a bit shit because it means that most of them are autistic as hell. I find most of them to be unbearable faggots.

I think they gravitate towards furry because they feel like misused, innocent creatures, though few of them ever make it a problem for others. The light and detail in that comic page is pretty intense, and I think that comes from somewhere in the artist.

lol Prelude is just something extra for the readers and the die-hards won't abandon it. Anyone who has a problem with references and/or homages don't have to read it. Dave will keep it going even if only ten people are reading it.

There are also a few that get off the ground but just peter out as the author finds other (likely better-paying) obligations - Daisy Owl and By Moon Alone come to mind.
Never-ending comics are too common. I read plenty, but the worlds and casts just grow tiresome, eventually. Questionable Content, Sinfest, Something Positive, Drowtales; the list goes on.
Then you've got the neverenders who shut down long after their story should have completed: Ctrl-Alt-Del finally killed its main cast and dwindled into obsolescence, Girls With Slingshots wore itself thin, and suffice to say that Atomic Robo is far superior to anything 8-Bit Theater ever presented.
Webcomic artists who can start a comic, update it reliably, and then _bring it to a timely conclusion_ are the rarest of the rare and I will celebrate them forever. Spacetrawler is the only one I can think of right now, though I suspect The Property of Hate will go this route. Wilde Life too, hopefully, but it might instead go neverending.
