Started a minecraft server that is not necessarily furry-themed, but with /furry/ in mind.

Yes, it IS pirate friendly.

Server has unlimited bandwidth, 4gb memory, pretty decent processing power, and is paid off for a year.

Included are instructions on how to create a profile on the vanilla launcher, and a batch script to automatically create the appropriate folder for the modpack, as well as copy the files to it.

I have no way of testing the script, so you'll have to let me know if doesn't work as intended.

Yes. Carpenter's Safe can protect your items, pneumaticraft security stations will protect everything within a radius (players can legitimately hack your station, so you better set it up good).

There's no shortage of defenses against mobs, between tesla coils, electric fencing, blast resistant construction foam, reinforced stone, magic barriers, and security stations.

Also it's not actually industrialcraft2, it's a complete rewrite of it that uses assets from the old verison used in tekkit. The hidden recipes are the same as they were back then too, nuke is a hidden recipe (which is disabled on the server) and uu-matter recipes are hidden.

Here's a certain way to crash your client:

Open the achievement tab and go through different mods by clicking the "minecraft" on the bottom left corner. When you reach Pneumatic Craft, trying to go further crashes your client.

Someone doing his achievement page seems to have decided that having a null pointer is a great idea.

I've been planning to build a "community portal" at spawn and build a nether hub for it, but haven't got any good theme ideas.

Honestly our spawn is such a shit, it's an empty box with only one way out and it leads straight onto a mountain wall. You can't modify it because of spawn protection and there's hardly any space to the left and back of it. The ender dragon will:

1. Destroy any blocks that aren't obsidian by spewing 3x tnt explosions at them at an absurd rate.

2. Throw you around, even through blocks. No, it doesn't fly through blocks (it just destroys anything in its way with those explosions), it makes YOU fly through blocks. And the End is an island floating over the Void. You can probably guess what'll happen to you.

3. Spawn angry Endermen on top of you. These things will 1-shot you if you don't have armor, and 3-shot you if you have a full armor bar and a full health bar. You'll be dealing with at least 3 at all times.

It probably does other things as well, but I didn't live long enough to find out. Doesn't seem to regenerate, though, so I guess the best way to kill it is to put 300 bows in a chest next to a bed next to the end portal and hope you get 1 arrow off before dying. Repeat until something happens.

Plus you can't get out. My plan was to hop in, mine a bit of end stone, place it in an ender chest that I had with me and then die. What happened is that I spawned, hopped off the platform you spawn on and died. At least I was smart enough to leave anything valuable at my base.

First, the minecraft coders pack needs to update, with essential hooks provided by mojang themselves. Then, forge needs to update, since forge relies on the MCP, which means a lot of changes to forge that wont be documented.

Most modders skipped 1.8 entirely, I wouldn't be surprised if more modders skipped 1.9.

Most mods are buggy, it's the occupational hazard of using mods.

If anything, stability became worse with the introduction of forge.

It's not an old mod though, and it gets regular updates to fix bugs, so it's a moot point.

The server has only had 2 crashes over the course of it's runtime thus far, I'd say that's equivalent or better than the stability of the generic FTB servers.

And ic2-classic is not the same mod as ic2-experimental, it hasn't been around for years, so you are wrong in this case as well.

ic2-classic is a complete rewrite from the ground up of ic2 preserving the features and recipes from the 1.4.7 version, and only became a thing last year when ic2 started becoming more like gregtech.

FTB modpacks still include the actual ic2-exp mod.

Almost have the update ready, I tested treecapitator, and it seems there's not really any axes too capable of chopping down the massive redwood trees.

A tartarite ax with unbreaking 3 was required to cut down a full tree, and it looked like that used up ~20% durability.

So, does everyone want me to include it anyway? Keep in mind, it will make it impossible to make those trees into houses or whatever because it will keep trying to cut the whole thing down, unless I set it to enchantment mode, which will require the treecapitating enchant on an item for axes to cut down full trees.

I'd say install it anyways. If your testing was correct, it'll take ~2400 durability to remove redwood. That's achievable with diamond(or any of the high-end Metallurgy metals) + unbreaking 1.

And it's not just redwoods. There's also sacred oaks and many other trees from BoP that are a bitch to cut down because they're so huge, like firs and temperate rainforest oaks. Plus there's the Twilight Forest trees. Just set it to enchantment mode.

You know mods that change the way normal game behavior works piss me the fuck off, and this mod is a prime example of it.

The fast leaf despawning mod is fucking annoying as is, it fucks with forestry related things, rapes trees with large leaf radius, and makes certain leaves impossible to build with because they all disintegrate if you break one of them (see: yuzu tree leaves).

If you want to add that tree cutting shit, definitely make it an enchant. Otherwise I just need to pray that chainsaws are unaffected.

I probably made it sound worse than it is, was having a bad moment.

Basically what happened to me a few times is when I try to get the special saplings from the trees, the leaves just disappear because they despawn so fast that I can't break them. You need to use a grafter to be able to get the sapling from it. I suppose you can avoid it by being careful about how you break the leaves so the special ones don't get disconnected.

First, a list of the changes so far:

Fixed the atlarus/adamantine conflict with poor ores, they used the same metadata for the base block, that's why they gave the same output.

Added treecapitator, as an enchant, so that players can still build treeforts and have separate lumber axes with unbreaking for the really big shit.

I've disabled fast leaf decay for forestry related things. I could have optionally set leaf decay to be slower, but there wasn't a comparison to how fast vanilla decay occurs so I wasn't sure what would be a good value for it.

Modpack will contain better-rain and it's coremod, which I stupidly didn't check if the zip file contained the actual mods. I assumed the file that was there was the mod, rather than a package of two mods.

If it turns out to be very laggy, I'll remove it and re-upload the pack.

BetterFoliage is no longer in the pack since many said it impacted performance.

I've kept both betterfoliage and betterRain in my profile, and I still get between 45-90 fps during rain storms. 80-105 fps when not raining.

A couple things were added server-side, which only really benefits me, as it suppresses some console barf and puts the server into a pause state when no players are online.
