Day 2:
The fever had mostly broken by the next morning, I opened my eyes and was glad to see they worked properly this time, it was still early as the night's chill lingered in the air. I found myself laid out on a bed of straw, completely naked from head to toe, on what seemed to be a heated, raised platform that took up the majority of the floorspace, I wasn’t sure how they heated it but I was grateful, it was very comfortable.
With great effort I raised my left arm and confirmed my assumptions against the dawn light streaming through the door, it had been wrapped tightly with a splint and cloth, I twitched my finger and was glad to see they still worked, doing so reminded me that Everything still hurt. I set it back down, only then noticing that something shuffled beside me, it was a fuzzy body, there was another one on my opposite side, and one at my feet, and one curled next to my head, I turned it to see that the whole platform was a pile of snowy white sergal pups (not dissimilar to my own white hair), all sleeping and snoring in all manner of weird positions around me, all equally nude. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep again.
I awoke later that morning, the headache had subsided but the everything-ache was still there. Leaning over me where two little wedgelike faces, both jumping back in surprise as I turned my head, hissing and barking at each other before one shot out the door, returning quickly with a much larger adult, snowy white just like the others. I was hard to tell what gender it was, but I ended up calling this sergal “Mother”, as she seemed to have the job of looking after the pups. I spent the day in bed, being nursed by her and becoming a thing of extreme curiosity for the smaller pups, the older looking ones having been shooed out during the day.
