You're not likely to get very far. 90% of the furry RPers out there are in it for the erotic roleplay. There are a few, like me, who prefer long story driven stuff, but I'm still a damn dirty furry deep down and sexy stuff inevitably happens. Never stops the story though and it keeps going on after of course but yeah. Pretty much my experience is no sex, no RP, and the vast majority of people its no sex in the first five-ten minutes, no RP.

Writing everything in present tense is illogical. Even if we make the leap of fantasy to assume that everything actually were occurring, by the time you describe it and send the reply, it has, indeed, already occurred and thus belongs in the past.
This and using "I" really separates the shitty RPs from the good ones.

objectively wrong. many great books were written in first person. ones that come to mind right now to me, are "in search of lost time", "journey to the end of the night", "lolita", "catcher in the rye" and a whole ton of detective novels.
second person narratives are popular in role-play fiction, which, incidentally, is the genre we are dealing with here. The D&D guidebooks are all written in second person, for example.
It's much better to say "I open the door, and take out my robe and wizard hat. After a thinking pause, pondering my next course of action and getting a devilish idea, I take one of my fingers into my mouth, sucking and licking on it. Looking for you, I walk around, finally I see you, sneak up on you, and proceed to give you a wet willy."
than "He opened the door, and took out his robe and wizard hat. >It is you doing something with your fursona
This is actually a large problem with RPs as a whole, and why people suck at them. It's a highly restrictive narrative style, especially for people who aren't very good writers. They become incapable of describing things that are more than just what they are seeing of thinking/feeling a the moment they type, and miss out on what's actually there; they couldn't describe their own back because they can't see it, to simplify the matter greatly. That's why RPs often seem as if they're taking place inside a tiny box that contains nothing but the two people who are involved.

Present tense and first-person perspective won't save that style. Your voice is drawl and your sentences are running a 10k. No personal offense intended, but good writing isn't in the perspective.
RP's are essentially collaborative stories. I've always felt that a third person narrative makes for a good common ground between those involved. You could switch turns halfway through a paragraph and still maintain a 'flow'.
I haven't RP'd in years. I tried a couple times since jumping into this fuzzy biz, but it's all asterisks and MIA P's & Q's. Perhaps that's more of a problem with me. Or maybe I'm looking in the wrong places?
