Here's the basic process that I've been using for a lot of morphing, be it breast expansion, pregnancy, muscles, or even just artwork fixups.

You'll need to be familiar with using layers in the paint program, obviously.

The first stage is really to get the base image in a state where it's really for morphing, by doing any cleanup, framing, etc.

Note that I've taken these screenshots from an completed XCF file, so the 5 layers are already present-- while going through each stage, you will need to create a layer and paste the work in.

Stage 2: create a "foreground" layer and add anything in the image that shouldn't be obscured by the morphed parts-- in this case, the left leg.

Next, create a layer with the parts of the image that're to be morphed...

Usually I take a rough lasso of the areas, paste it into the layer, then Erase and 'Fuzzy Select' it to what just is needed.

Now for the fun part-- using Gimp's Filters->Distorts->IWarp to expand what needs expanding.

Some builds of Gimp only give you a uselessly small editing window for IWarp. Protip: use the rectangular select tool to chose just the area you need before starting IWarp, otherwise it'll take the whole layer in.

Working gradually, with a very low 'deform amount' is generally the way to go.

Notice the 'Remove' button-- it's not an Undo, but can be used to unwarp areas of the image.

Usually I'll work on the expansion in stages-- doing a modest enlargement at first, and afterwards duplicate that layer and iWarp it again, and again, and again...

Finally, enable just the layers you need for the finished morph-- the background/original layer, the morphed layer, and foreground.

By the way, notice the stacking of the layers-- 'foreground' has to be at the top for obvious reasons.

Keep in mind that IWarp can make a mess of a lot detail, and obviously overstretched and scaled areas of an image are to be avoided. In a pinch, the 'Shrink' in IWarp can unblur lines, growing outside an area can compress the area back, and there's the rest of the paint program to use. Damn, when editing someone's art, it need you to be an artist as well...

There's also a second 'quicker' way to do simple morphing with less farting about with layers...

Open the image in Gimp, and then Duplicate the default/background layer. With the second layer, add an Alpha/Transparency channel to it.

Then IWarp the second layer, not worrying too much if other parts of the image get distorted.. In this case, the butt of the kitsune girl got squashed a bit-- in other images, things like straight line features in the background become curved, making it obvious something was distorted.

Next, the unwanted distorted areas in the second layer then get erased.

Flatten the image, post it to the Internets, and then bask in the mouthbreather comments that you live for! Yay.
