Evening, /g/entoomen

I've been using Linux Mint Cinnamon, but I'm looking for the fastest Ubuntu-based distro. I've been looking at XFCE based ones, but I did consider MATE.

Which do you use? I have plenty of power on my desktop, but the less my distro requires the better. I'm also looking for one with steady support. This will be my primary OS, as I've completely migrated from Gentoo for both work and entertainment.

So far my contenders are:

Xubuntu

Linux Mint XFCE

Lubuntu

Cinnamon seems just visually sluggish.

What are your experiences with the other similar distros, speed wise?

Lubuntu is the least resource heavy.

With appropriate terminal-fu, you can remove a lot of the bloatware that comes with most ubuntu-based distros. I've been using it on the daily for a good while.

I don't like Ubuntu itself, hence Ubuntu-based. Their UI and policies are terrible imo tbh smh fam.
