 No.4165

Okay I'm currently purchasing this evga gtx 960 2gb for £105 but then I came across this other 960 for £140 for a 4gb model, I looked around online and found out that there isn't much of a performance boost for the 4gb model, but then I thought what if I buy both and sli them, I've done all the checking to see if my motherboard and psu can support this, I just want to know.

.

Are the 2gb 960 and 4gb 960 compatible for sli, are these two cards able to do sli?

 No.4268

Most games you will be playing won't take full advantage of the newest APIs (Vulkan, Mantle, DX12), meaning they won't be able to pool memory.

So your SLI would be limited to using 2G memory on each card. It will work, but the resources will be wasted. This type of setup should be useful in the future when programmers decide to put support for these APIs in their code.

For that cost, just buy a fucking 980.There's zero reason to dual-up some shitty mid-tier card when for the same cost you can get a high-end.
