Why:
If you haven't heard yet, there was gamedropping in an anime called Prison School, an anime that normally centers around fanservice, hyper-sexual shock comedy, etc.

Here's the original line from the manga:

And from the subtitles:

The lines from the dub definitively deviate a lot from the original work and the script writer outright inserted politics into the dub.
Funimation did answer to the initial outrage, but it was a non-answer. It's clear they are not going to do anything about it and the employees involved only got a slap on the wrist:

Here are a few articles and videos about it:

It's clear from the comments from the various articles and videos; the people are not happy.
The crux of the problem isn't quite the gamedropping, it's the fact that the line makes very little sense and the joke is obviously forced (along with the very already dated and stupid "Arthur Fonzarelli" reference). This was not a translation, or a localization, but a complete dialogue change for the purpose of a political potshot from the writer.
- This is exactly what we're against, the injection of politics where it doesn't belong
- Second, not properly taking care of this mess means it'll just happen again
- Third, I'd love to buy DVD/BD without having to check on the Internet who did what and who said what about it
Also, Funimation employees have been attacking concerned fans for over 4 days straight, acting in a shockingly unprofessional manner:
- Tyson Rinehart https://archive.is/SbkI9
- Jamie Marchi https://archive.is/c79On
- Stephen Hoff (An ADR Engineer that has worked on a lot of Funimation shows), who is not working on Prison School, but has been involved in a lot of their releases , has also been attacking fans over twitter: https://archive.is/LyrGp https://archive.is/ljE8l https://archive.is/iVB2B
Tyson stopped arguing with fans, but he's still retweeting angry concerned fans, there's no reasons to do this other than to publicly shame them and possibly send a mob of fans on them. Once again, this is shockingly unprofessional.
I also recommend people archive tweets here and there and include them with the e-mails. Not a lot of places would accept their employees trolling concerned fans for that long.
In short, the e-mailing goals are:
- Prevent script writers from injecting politics of any kind into their scripts where they don't belong. Also expressing our concern with dub scripts that don't respect the original material.
- Punish the employees involved for their grossly unprofessional behavior.
- Also, ultimately, get Funimation to remove the line
Contact information:
BTW, if you already e-mailed before Funimation addressed (or more like, didn't really address anything at all…) this with the blog PR post, it's worth e-mailing again.

Also use the hashtag #BadDub and add @Funimation on Twitter. Do NOT mix the hashtag with #GamerGate, it will prevent it from trending. I know it's a shitty hashtag, but fucking twitter limits.
Of course, if you have any Funimation products (DVD/BD, Funimation.com subscriptions, etc.), please include it in your e-mails.
