"The woman on the left is named Anita Sarkeesian, and the one on the right is Zoe Quinn. I'd say google them but the people who run websites like Wikipedia are all brainwashed by their narrative and refuse to give truthful descriptions of the two or the events that surround them, painting the opposition as 'hate campaigners' rather than critics or those who seek unbiased information.
Anita Sarkeesian runs a blog/channel called Feminist Frequency and came out of the woodwork several years ago claiming that video games were inherently sexist and claimed she would explain why in a series of videos called "Tropes vs. Women". She asked a relatively modest sum of money, but the amount she asked for was… Completely overblown, to say the least, raking in around $154k rather than the $6k she asked for initially. This would have been fine if the videos had actually used this money, but they haven't, mainly being low in production value, being relatively short, having severely biased claims (and when rarely sourced the sources are just as biased), and in many cases she's been caught using footage from other video makers without their permission. She also does her best (when she actually does record her own footage) to make the games she plays look as sexist as possible, mainly by only targeting female characters, misconstruing story elements, and haphazardly dragging women's bodies around,. She claims that violence towards women is rewarded in these cases, despite even the footage itself showing that the game punishes you for pointless violence in a mission where you're supposed to be rescuing some women that work in a strip club (Original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZPSrwedvsg). I'll let you form your own view if you decide to watch the video.
Zoe Quinn is in a similar situation, though she has experience as a "developer' by creating Depression Quest, a misguided attempt at showing what depression is like that fails on all fronts and does nothing but confuse people. The game has no images or sounds, being more of a choose-your-own-adventure book than anything else. This aside, she was brought into the spotlight when a former partner of her's revealed she had a colorful past of cheating and exchanging sexual favors in exchange for attention brought to Depression Quest on sites such as Kotaku and Polygon. This resulted in a huge scandal affectionately termed Five Guys, as five of the men she had relationships with worked for news gaming sites and covered Depression Quest in an overwhelmingly positive light, going against the oath of journalistic integrity. This cascaded into the GamerGate movement which aimed (and still aims) to expose where this sort of seedy business has gone on and expose it, offering a different perspective in an environment where Political Correctness is law. Naturally, they were immediately painted as sexists, bullies, trolls, terrorists, literal rapists, and an entire slew of other colorful vernacular when they exposed Zoe's involvement with these journalists, going as far as to cooperate and publish simultaneous articles titled "Gamers are Dead" in retaliation, trying to paint GamerGate supporters as a harassment campaign rather than to bring to light the raw events of what had been happening. Again, claiming her detractors were dirty misogynists earned her sympathy points from those aiming to push a narrative rather than factual evidence, and over time more has been revealed in her involvement with various feminist activist groups and enough elbow rubbing to make Richard Nixon blush.
Now these two are speaking at the United Nations as to why free speech and difference of opinion are "too dangerous" for the internet, they are proposing laws that would make expressing doubt or a difference of opinion punishable offenses, a major leap in being able to silence any opposition and further solidify their moral echo chamber, claiming they're the heroes by silencing the hateful bigots who dare to advocate for transparency in journalism.
That's the bare basics of it all. There's dozens of people on either side with their involvement in the whole shitstorm of it all, but the biggest difference you'll find is that those on the "politically correct" end of the spectrum do the equivalent of covering their ears and going LALALALALA or calling their opposition nazis/sexists/bigots/virgins, while those on the GamerGate side of things only seek to expose facts and call out hypocrisy or agenda-pushing where they're found.
If you're not completely exhausted after reading this, I can recommend some good youtube channels that explain all this stuff a lot more eloquently than I can. I honestly expected this to be shorter, but I tried my best to include all the facts that were necessary to understanding why these two women are so twisted."
