I own a £1200 PC
I also owned a Mega Drive of unknown price and multiple games that likely total to being worth £500 retail. 500 1994 pounds mind you.
I also owned a PSX and several games that likely reached the £600 mark total.
My PS2 reached the £800 mark no problem.
My PS3 has £350 invested into it excluding the PS3 itself.
I have 11 DS games, which total up to about £320 including some GBA games.
I also own a 3DS which set me back £100 (second hand) and some games on that which currently comes up to £180.
My GOG account has had £550 spent on it, and my Steam account is worth almost £1000.
I have multiple purchases that I have regretted because of outright lies, collaboration, and false advertising. I've invested over £5600 in gaming (not counting peripherals, DLC, and PC games I physically had) and have been burned multiple times because of shitty journalism, consumer rights not applying to me because of the piracy bogeyman, and developers having zero obligation to make a game of acceptable quality or to fix bugs.
It's hardly a waste of time for me to be pissed off at a major source of information for an industry that I have contributed thousands of pounds to.
