I don't think he could sue WWE for terminating and blacklisting him since they technically own most of his wrestling footage and they have no obligation to give him exposure.

Rather it seems that Vince McMahon can't stay mad at his top earners. People barely remember anymore that Hogan used the word nigger in the privacy of his own home. Plus if anyone takes issue with it, chances are they don't watch WWE.

This isn't a criminal trial with a beyond all reasonable doubt standard, it's a civil trial with a 51% standard. The fact that the info is suspiciously conveniently destroyed helps a lot more towards that bar.
