Most people don't remember what happened to Gerstmann specifically because of the rampant corruption that gamergate fights. The story was swept under the rug so thoroughly that only a few angry faggots on 4chan at the time paid any attention because *chans are where reality lives. By the time gamergate began, the Gerstmann situation had fizzled out, the corpses had been buried and there was nothing left to do about it but foster distrust of video game media which /v/ did each and every day. I will freely grant you that the Quinn situation was a lot more interesting to people because it involved shex fer favours, but that doesn't make it any less egregious. Quinn was the tipping point of a war that had been slowly but viciously putrefying for years if not decades.
Also, the fact that it is feminists who are taking advantage of the corruption that already existed in the industry says more about their movement than gamergate. The fact that people like you will tacitly defend their actions by casting aspersions on gamergate betrays your cowardice and their underhanded avarice and belligerence.
