/ggrevolt/ is more /pol/ and /baph/ than /gamergatehq/.

GGHQ is GG vanilla. Games journalism and SJW bullshit. HQ has been accused of having heavy moderation of off topic discussion.

Revolt will attack Gamergate celebs over perceived hypocrisies and want to boycott developers, as they believe Gamergate can cover more than just ethics and SJWs, but also other gaming sleights as well. Very militant about not being hypocritical. Revolt has been accused of raiding.

GGHQ would prefer that Revolt would stop attacking pro gg e-celebs and to stop boycotting developers. Revolt believes GGHQ doesn't do enough or go far enough for GamerGate.

That's as unbiased as I can make it.

GGHQ is a GamerGate board used by GamerGate people, GGRevolt is used by Something Awful users.

Oh god, it's been so long I've forgotten the names of the old boards. To the best of my fractured memory it played out like this:

-Board was originally called /burgersandfries/ before GamerGate was a thing, and was just making fun of the memes.

-Then it became /gamergate/ or /gg/ (this is the big I'm forgetting) for several months when this became a more serious thing.

-All the while Zoe's troll friends from SomethingAwful were actively trying to sabotage things. Actively trying to chase away every e-celeb that supports GamerGate.

-One board gets compromised, ownership is revealed to be one of those trolls, so everyone migrates to a second board.

-Some time later after months of being attacked by those very people, the owner has a breakdown and gives ownership of the board to those trolls.

-Immediately they pull a bunch of retarded shit like making the banner a picture of Thidran (I think?) holding up a knife saying he wants to kill women in the name of GamerGate and changes everyone's name to "UnpaidGawkerIntern"

-Immediately everyone abandons that second board and comes here. All the e-celebs endorse it.

-The Ayy-team faggots whine on twitter that we "didn't give them a chance" and they were just playing jokes.

-They spend a good month spamming this board with "acidcuck" tribalism bullshit "Okay so… MAYBE there haven't been any moderation abuses yet… BUT THERE WILL BE!!!! HE'S GONNA ABUSE POWER, DON'T TRUST HIM!!! STUPID ETHICS CUCKS AND RULEFAGGOTS!"

-Realizing no one's buying it and their board is dead after numerous attempts to bring the board rank down, and doing things like going to every other board and trying to get their board rank up just to bring ours down and recruit them into their retarded drama war (and before anyone denies this, the threads on /baphomet/, /cow/, /tech/ and /b/ have been saved you fuckwits, everyone thinks you guys are idiots everywhere but /intl/.) JUST like with the #stopgamgergate2014 hashtag they thought if they could just get enough people to raise it above ours for just one night they would win, but they couldn't manage it. They could never manage to get their board about HQ either.

-Months pass and they shitpost to the extreme. Tons of D&C shill threads, insults to every GG e-celeb until one by one they're silenced (and anyone who thinks a group actively trying to silence GG supports GG is fucking retarded) harassing everyone from King of Pol to Boogie, JonTron, TotalBiscuit, John Oliver, Milo, etc, etc, etc. Virtually every "ragequit" can be traced back to these same concerntrolling faggots.

-They then started a retarded cycle. They'd make ridiculous posts here, then screenshot and post them on /pol/ and other boards and claim it was proof we'd "lost our way" or become SJWs. They'd do something ridiculous to get banned, then once banned post the screenshot of it and claim it was proof the moderation had gone out of control. They've done this for months.

-Then suddenly revolt pops up, run by the same people, advocating the same shit, with the only real difference being they swear thew new board will have zero moderation and nothing will be banned or deleted, making the board b2.0.

-Last week they were once again posting threads on /b/, /cow/, /pol/, /n/, etc trying desperately to advertise the "coleslaw" dox and pleading with people to post on revolt to bring up the board rank.

-At the same time HQ has been having some page updating errors and freezing despite new posts. I predict that after a week revolt will drop back down to around 170 just like the anti-GG hashtag, ghazi, and their previous GG boards.

gghq is basically a place for long-term topic discussion from the /v/ threads. Revolt is an off-shoot of people from gghq that were disgruntled with the way things were run.
