I've been in GG over a year. I know we have our preferred journalism outlets, we supported a feminist charity to make their own game after LW attacked them, and we have devs on our side. Our angle is that we speak for gamers, and that we have silent support from many studios.

However, I think after this bullshit with DOAX3 getting pulled from the western marketplace, there needs to be bigger steps taken here. Obviously, I think something tagged too obviously as the GG studio would be cringey as fuck, but we need to do something that has more infrastructure to it then a Kickstarter from randos or supporting random indie games.

Remember censorship of games by the government is illegal in the US. The Supreme Court said so. There is no reason this new wave of censorship should be happening if it weren't for cowardly marketing hacks bowing to archaic PR bullshit instead of catering products to what their customers actually want.

So how do you break this cycle and change the paradigm? I think it's what was done in the past. Remember the early 90's when all games were considered kiddy fare and censorship for violence was prevalent and heavy handed? What broke that? It was Mortal Kombat's success that forced everyone else to change. We need to do something like that in regards to integrating fun sex appeal into games. If it sells well, it will set a precedent. That has happened in the past with sexy games, however, due to SJWs and censorious feminazis, they are influencing vulnerable studios to peddle it back. What we need to have is people in place that will not back down to bullshit Twitter criticisms or Shitaku articles. We need players in that the game that will not be co-opted by SJWs. That will show you can tell these people to piss off and still succeed. It will make everyone remember that there's no such thing as bad PR for entertainment products, which is still the fucking truth but we now have people buying this bullshit from social media keyboard warriors who screech it loud enough it creates an illusion that they represent the average customer.

Just some rambling thoughts. I think this past week has been the worst for me in all of GG, just because all of this censorship bullshit that now seems to be happening with more frequency. Something needs to happen for sure.

Shivers had an operation last year to get GGers to learn game development. Does anyone have the link to her forum?

Anyone interested in learning gamedev should read /agdg/

Anyone interested in learning gamedev should download gamemaker and follow a few tutorials. Reading /agdg/ is a great way to feel like you're doing something without actually doing anything.

You have my respect, anon. This is one of the best ideas pitched to gamergate in the longest time.

Risk taking and entrepreneurship. That is what gamergate needs. Best of luck.

The problem is that games are fucking hard to make. A good game is even harder.

#Solution6Months is still around.

http://www.gamedev.life/

I'm hopeful about League for Gamers

https://leagueforgamers.com/

I think the best bet is for small teams to join together and build something. Ask for anonymous help when needed with specific requests for assets like concept art and models maybe. Make sure it can be modded. In my opinion a 3d first person shooter style game would be the most popular. Use a game engine like Source or Unreal Engine 4. It would also be more difficult to pull off than a 2d sprite game. There would need to be a strong dedicated core team to pull this off and anon dev fags contributing.

>The problem is that games are fucking hard to make. A good game is even harder.

Then make the effort. You know the plan for action. Put it into action: Take courses; get the education you need, save money to buy the equipment. Then, once all is said and done, and you have money to fall back on to cover emergencies, immerse yourself in your work.

Don't overthink this. There's an old Klingon saying. Think, and you shall BE dinner. Act, and you shall HAVE dinner.

I've been learning game development for years already. I'm referring to why it's hard to get these kind of things off the ground. It's a lot of work and time to learn enough. Even after you learn enough It's like knowing how to build a house. You still have to actually build it and it's a lot of work.

If a small core team of developers got together to make a game I am sure many would be willing to contribute. I know I would.

I was actually thinking about doing some gamedev. My life's going to shit practically everywhere and I think it's about time to drop out and work on some sort of game. I have a fellow neckbeard friend who's life is equally as shit. Maybe we'll get something done, maybe I might kill myself next week, who knows?

True

One thing that was constantly repeated to me in college was every film that gets made is a miracle

Hell that schedule manga authors have is ridiculously booked.

Even making shitty flash cartoons can take days.

But fuck it, man. It's worth it.

make a depressing Wraith: The Oblivion game or some other World of Darkness property. You can make a game about a depressed dev who actually kills himself and reconciling that in death as a ghost with other spooks and supernaturals

Should anyone jump down the rabbit hole of gamedev remember that its not about the graphics or cash.

This is an example of a game done properly it may not have the best graphics and is dated as fuck but it is fun easy to use and not overly complex or difficult.

I recommend following this example.

>We need players in that the game that will not be co-opted by SJWs.

Drawfag here. I agree that we should do something about it, but that's easier said than done. Time for some rambling of my own.

If you want my $0.02, the main problem with starting a GG studio is the same one you get with any startup; you get a bunch of people who all think they have the best idea, and want to do everything their way, and the studio falls apart and everybody fucks off.

The other problem is finding people who can do shit. If you want to make an impact on the market without resorting to sucking off a journo or two (which wouldn't work anyway because they're all SJWs anyway), you have to make something people will want to play. This means you need a team of people who can make something worth playing, i.e. not ideaguys. We have /agdg/, /art/, /loomis/, and /ani/, but none of them are working together - or maybe it just looks that way, I can't say for sure. Individually, there are probably enough people between them to form a studio, but then you end up with the first problem all over again.

How do you solve these problems? Fucked if I know. Ask somebody else.

>We need to do something like that in regards to integrating fun sex appeal into games.

Only if it fits into the game, or if you design it like that right off the bat, like Senran Kagura. If you want sex appeal to be a core feature of the game, you need drawfags who can actually draw for shit. If you have animations, you need animators; drawing still pics and animating are not the same thing like I found out a few months ago.

Bottom line, it's a good idea; the devil is in the details.

o hai

We're still working on it. Drawing all this shit is taking forever.

As far as the voice talent goes, I'd say:

Gilda B comes across as more fresh-faced

Pol A sounds unhinged like I'd expect pol to

Freya C has a nice tone, but all 3 are excellent

We should organize something with some of the openly pro-GG devs then. Probably would involve crowd funding I guess. I know that crowd funding opens up a can of worms sometimes, but I want GG to do something again. Overall, the game shouldn't be GG themed, so we can attract normies to it. But it shouldn't be watered down SJW shit. GG already funded one game mostly for PR, but the PR stage of this shit is dead and won't even matter since the media will move onto the 2016 election.
