Exactly. If the actress can do the role well then good for her and I wish the production the best, it just doesn't do anything to the canon.
Take for example, Hamilton, a recent Broadway hit that's sold out until August. It has an all black and latino cast save for one white guy who plays King George. Its premise? The story of Alexander Hamilton told through in a sort of hip hop musical. Weird but it works extremely well and when they realized the cast's demographics they laughed, saying it wasn't at all intentional that's just how it came out because the people matched the role. Nobody's magically pretending that the founding fathers weren't white, so why would we pretend that the well documented instances of Hermione being white have changed? Actors can play whatever role they want, that's the point, you just don't rewrite history in the process because that's not what acting is.
