There was an article posted here in PDF form a while back, but I lost the link. I'd only read the first few paragraphs, but it was very interesting.
It was titled something like "the tyranny of the minority" or something along those lines. Or perhaps that was the post subject. Basically it discussed how the vocal minority gets everything they want, by referring initially to the kosher symbol found on so many products.
It points out that Jews make up a tiny, tiny minority, and even less care whether or not a product is kosher, but by putting that symbol on there they assure those who wouldn't buy the product without it will, since the rest of the population doesn't care.

Personally, don't like the show and I don't hate the show, but I think it's Ginax's weakest-yet-most-hyped popular-series (Gurren Laggan, Gunbuster, and Nadia are superior), Although, I do like the Reboot movies and recommend them for new fans (less train riding; more superior glasses-waifu).
I also feel the "2 deep 4" hype-train is bullshit as scribbling bible verses on a wall and wanking on unconscious 15-year-old girls doesn't make you deep, just mentally-ill; as the whole "genre deconstruction of giant robot anime" thing is an asspull, non-excuse for being BORING (fuck those train scenes troll-director Anno) as Modoka is a "genre deconstruction of giant magical girl anime"-thing, and did it better because Modoka was actually a "psychological horror anime" disguised as a "magical girl anime" ; while Eva is a "riding-on-trains-being-introspective-because-the-director-is-depressed-and-is-working-out-his-issues-with-both-women-and-relationships-get-a-fucking-therapist-Anno anime" disguised as a "giant robot anime" .
However while both Eva and Modoka are both "deconstruction" series', due to their respective hypetrains (fuck trains), I feel they overshadow other 'better-er "deconstruction" series' which are more fun to watch than the above "2 deep 4 u"'s'':
With Giant Robots there's: Martian Successor Nadeshiko and Mobile Police Patlabor …and technically, the original Mobile Suit Gundam and Ideon (although, the latter two can get into "2 deep 4 u" -territory; Ideon especially, that and the all the women and children are killed brutally. Spoilers.)

Alright, alright. I'll bite. The latest Feminist Frequency video is just too funny not to share. The title hints at the fun in store: "Strategic Butt Coverings."
The trope being discussed is the portrayal of female butts in video games. And, you know, even with all the cherry picking Anita's so famous for, she does sorta have a point. A fair number of video games, especially those with 3rd-person camera views, have featured some alluring female butts.
The question for me is - are those butts "problematic"? And who's to say? This is my core issue with Anita's videos - wherein she's judge and jury over content in games media. She suggests media is warping people's (especially men's) view of the world (especially women), and yet, there's absolutely no evidence games (or other media) have any sort of negative influence on society. In fact, the world has seen a marked reduction in crime over the past couple of decades - in lockstep with the growth of the games industry. Just ask Jack Thompson.
Anita spends the first part of the video explaining how female butts end up "strategically placed" in the middle of the screen, by design, in an effort to draw player's attention (assuming player is male). She makes several statements regarding how this "places tremendous emphasis on that part of the body."
It seems silly to point this out, but what should one expect to see when placing a camera behind someone? Their backside. As to whether the perspective is high or low (framing their upper body or otherwise), is a function of the core game mechanic, not the designer trying to place more emphasis on a character's butt. Is it primarily a 3rd person shooter? Then the camera placement is going to be over the shoulder. A platformer? Camera lower, to capture all the character's movement and interactions.
Just imagine for a minute that butt position IS mentioned during design meetings - how high of a priority does it get in relation to all the other considerations going into the design and tuning of a game? Aren't there people in those meetings who are into necks? Thighs? Ankles? Does she really think there's a room full of people who sit around debating these things?
This is one area where I think Anita badly missteps in her critiques. She ignores the fact development teams are made up of multi-cultural, multi-discipline, interlocking departments of male and female developers - all of whom are only in their position because of incredible hard work, diligence, and intelligence. These teams have been tasked with managing a development process that can span 24+ months, costs 10's of millions of dollars, and employs hundreds of people. There's internal competition between departments around use of resources and the emphasis placed on particular disciplines.
To suggest that one person (presumably a sexist, man-pig) can walk into this kind of environment and say, "make her butt the center of attention!" reveals Anita's lack of understanding about how games are made and the people who make them.

Aurini got into GG, because he and Owen have been already planning their documentary about Sarkeesian for quiet a while before Gamergate.
