How is Zoe paying for her new fancy lawyers?
Two theories:
1. Her book/movie deal money. (the obvious one)
2. The lawyers are being paid for or have been convinced to work for free, by
A. Sony/the asshole femanazi Sony executive who bought her movie rights
B. The publisher who bought her book rights
C. Some political hack or Hollywood hack (someone other than the femanazi Sony movie executive)
The later is a more realistic theory; Zoe getting crucified in court would DESTROY any hope of actually publishing her book (due to the fact that it would NEVER pass the lawyers due to libel charges), let alone being made into a movie. Which means that SOMEONE is going to get fired or see their career at the publishing company/Sony pretty much rendered DOA as far as blowback for wasting money on a liar who's shit they can't publish without being sued into oblivion and being seen promoting full-on lies..
But the former makes more sense, esepcially if you factor in the idea that she's dumped her arms dealer son boytoy. The timing makes sense even given things being like they are; she dumps Alex when she gets an offer for the movie/book rights. She wins at court, she is effectively bulletproof and can charge more for speaking engagements and other bullshit. If she loses? She dodges the bullet of actually having to write the book in the first place and can blame women haters in the book and movie industry for why the two never came out, IE claiming they "spiked" the release of the movie and book.
