>Student leaders at the University of Oregon debated removing a quote from Martin Luther King Jr. from its student center, arguing that the quote was not inclusive enough for modern understandings of diversity.

>Oregon’s Erb Memorial Union, which is currently under renovation, had the following famous King quote on the wall: “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream…”

>But as renovation continues, the Oregon Student Union seriously considered replacing that quote. “The quote is not going to change,” reports student paper Oregon Daily Emerald, “but that decision was not made without some hard thought by the Student Union Board.”

>When the student union considered the question, some students asked, “Does the MLK quote represent us today?” The problem wasn’t so much the message, but the fact that it only focused on racial diversity instead of gender identity.

>“Diversity is so much more than race,” said one sophomore architecture major. “Obviously race still plays a big role. But there are people who identify differently in gender and all sorts of things like that.”

>Ironically, the King quote was to the lobby after students complained about another quote. Until 1985, the wall declared the University of Oregon “leader in the quest for the good life for all men.” That was replaced with the King quote after feminists objected to the implication that Oregon only cared about “men.”

>Gender is more important than race

>Therefore we must ban the words of one of the greatest activists in history

Arent these peoples the same ones who would blindly support #BLM, a racial movement?

Oh wait i forgot these are the same people who are never satisfied and want more every time.

Oh my god, I can't wait for them to start a war with BLM over them focusing on race instead of gender. Can you imagine?

Purple haired fag: "Hey guys, I know black people are oppressed and everything, but you need to start talking about queer and trans people too!"

College student with rich parents: "FUCK YOU WHITE PIECE OF SHIT MUTHAFUCKA!!!"

#BLM is s racist movement. Full stop.

MLK would have slapped the black off those papered collage students if he were still alive today for the shit they do and say.

My rage is bright white

He's a pacifist. That's the issue. SJWs don't want people with a cool headed mind, they want brainwashed combative minions, so that they have a threatening position over others.

d41b49 No.314521

It's simple, really. That King quote goes against everything these people believe nowadays. They WANT, no, NEED to be judged by the colour of their skin, not the content of their character, seeing as their character is that of a racist, sexist who simultaneously cries foul at the mere SUGGESTION of logic or reason. This will hopefully wake people up as to who these progressives/SJWs really are.

>be judge by the content of their character

>but he only used color in his speach therefore he is talking about race and NO OTHER trace!!!

how shallow you need to be to think like that?

So this may be a war between two different kinds of racists?

abdd3e No.315582

MLK would likely not have agreed to any change. His family is almost notoriously anti-gay and his own children have said he'd have hated gays. He probably had zero issues with stereotypical gender roles because he didn't fight those. He may have wanted racial equality, but he didn't want anything else.

his modern day white equivalent would be David Duke.
