In an addendum, I find it highly, HIGHLY shady when Kotaku was the first to break this. And several cut-and-paste "news source" clickbait factories refer back to Kotaku as a source.

If true, wouldn't that violate the no-compete clause? If you have to fight to keep your staff from being stolen away then that certainly sounds like competition.

TBH I think what happened was Trendy saw $$$ when the "Survival of the Fittest" stand-alone competitive game was released.
