Does anyone have experience beekeeping?

It looks so interesting, I really want to start it. I've been looking up all these cool things about bees recently.

Any advice on how to get started?

I'd recommend you gas them all before you take their prized golden possessions.

Good advice, smoke makes them calmer.

with chiggers and chews you always lose.

Pest removal general.

I had bees that would hang around a certain area and poured an ashtray over the ground they would hang out. They left.

Any other tips?

Anyone know of a group or website or something online where I could find a person(s) who have coconut trees and want to get rid of their coconuts as they fall, and would be willing to ship them (husk+shell) out to me? Maybe the same for palm trees (the leaves), or possibly other things like that. I've been checking the seed & garden swap pages and similar, but everyone's either way to strict on what can be posted, or there isn't really anyone that'd do this.

I'd pay for shipping of course and maybe even a fee for their time. I just think it would be sweet to develop a relationship with some people who send me the shit they don't want in exchange for me not breaking the bank.
