give it time, anon
it's better to move slow, then to have all the garbage that has moved from /g/ to tech
>omg look at my new iFag device
>lol it bends in your pocket you faggot, enjoy $4000 of a wasted investment
>why is linux so much shit and why is windows so much better
>lol nerd y u don't use fagOSX
>mp3 player thread and why is iFag the best one
do you honestly need, or want any of that?
want to bring more people to the board? tell them about it

It's nice to know there's a fallback, though.

No-one ever said this was going to be a permanent board. Not a lot of people realize that even this is a temporary prospect. You always have to have a backup in mind. This site at any day could suddenly change it's policies or be acquired by someone with dosh and not our best interests.
As for everything else. This board will be slow. The implications of the last week or so only really seemed apparent with the populations of a couple of boards with the rest of 4chins not giving two shits.
/g/ was one of the boards that could be described as being somewhat "removed" from the controversy. Along with boards like /fa/ and the like. The porn boards, also never had a stake in "that dispute".
We got a lot of /b/-tards though. Namely because they were fed up with the mods unnecessarily sticking their fingers into /b/'s shit pie. That and /b/ and /sp/ like to get into riots and shitpost.
The novelty of being able to create your own board is nice. But it also has some drawbacks. Many boards are splitting into multiples, especially the porn boards. And that means splitting the userbase. Which is still a minority. 8chan needs more exposure, and less obvious shilling. There are 8chan users shilling, even in /g/. It is causing other users and regulars to dig in their heels. Also, 4chins mods have been disguising themselves as anons, to both shill against and "for" 8chan, to create division.
Again, this board is going to be slow for a while, maybe forever. People just need to learn to surf multiple chans at one time. And don't expect this to be a permanent place. That is what many in 4chins did. Always have an alternative lined up, even if this one fails.
You also have to make this place useful to people to get them to come. You have to make it better, potentially more-so than even original /g/. Maybe even get a wiki.
