hey /g/entoomen, what do you think of openSUSE?

worth a shot?

OpenSUSE is the most underrated distro there is.

OpenSUSE is stable, has Zypper and a really nice configuration manager.

If I wasn't comfortable on my Wheezy install I would probably be using OpenSUSE.

what about Tumbleweed and Factory on openSUSE?

have you tried them? any issues with turning suse into a rolling release distro?

Have tried it once, didn't have any problems with it.

Yes.

It's alright, just don't mess with mesa updates too much, it likes to overthrow your proprietary drivers.

Has anyone gotten the chromebook c720 touchpad working with opensuse? I'm using eOS and I'm wanting to switch.

are there any issues you would like to share with us? it doesn't work when you install it?

It's a chromebook. It runs ChromeOS kernels. Not for the faint of heart

The chromebook touchpad drivers were only merged in 3.17, so you need to either patch a kernel, or replace it with 3.17.

Touchpad doesn't work out of the box except for those using 3.17 or later, or meta-distros specifically compiled for the C720 like that version of Bodhi.

I don't use OpenSUSE, but the latest release uses 3.16. This thread on reddit looks promising.

You'll probably have to modify the script to use pacman or whatever openSuse uses instead of apt.
