GamerGate Voting
Hi goyim, the GamerGate Investigatory Commission is an investigatory group of nine people (three pro, three anti and three neutral) whose mission is to take an unbiased and in-depth look at the GamerGate controversy and writing up an accurate history of the conflict. In other words, we're doing what journalists should have done over a year ago.
Voting for all three slates is open to everyone. The election will run for roughly 24 hours, giving everyone a chance to vote regardless of time zone. Voters are encouraged to vote for their top three candidates in any of the three slates. The three winning candidates in each slate will be given access to the Commission forums, where an Advisory Council will be decided upon and an expanded framework laid out for the Commission.

If we truly want a paradigm shift, I propose we start independently advocating on behalf of the consumer without relying on others. Not only will this empower consumers on an individual basis while providing insight from people who actually have a stake in the market, but it could also provide the financial clout necessary for forming consumer advocacy groups.
We can do this by starting our own blogs and video channels. Using google ads or crowd-funding can help support these advocates who can also link back to eachother so as many voices are heard as possible. Essentially, take a page from William Usher and go your own way.
Patreon is perhaps a good system for collecting revenue, despite how shitty their community guidelines are (http://gamergate.me/2015/02/patreon-community-guidelines/). There are other problems with using Patreon, but so long as specific benchmarks are met it should be a viable service:
1) Charge Patrons by content, not by month. Paying per-content can always be revoked by the backer if they find the quality of a video or article is not up to snuff. In addition, this prevents creators from getting paid by merely existing.
2) Set milestone goals to encourage more donations. Collecting money without improving quality of production is a bad practice. This focuses on improvement and gives good reason for collecting money.
3) Disclose finances for supporting the website. Let everyone know exactly how much you are making, how much each of your backers are paying you, and where the money is going. This way you remain ethical.
4) Do not fund other Patreons. Currently there is a big confidence scheme going on throughout Patreon. You pay a friend, friend pays you back, and it ends up being a giant circle-jerk. By not backing eachother you boost your own credibility and avoid group-think.
The main benefits of Patreon are ease of convenience, disclosure, and branding. There is also a strong possibility of siphoning funds from trust fund babies by invading their platform.

The UBM corporation itself predates the advent of video games, while several of its progenitor companies stretch back to the 19th century. UBM as it exists today was founded in 1918 as United Newspapers by David Lloyd George, then the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and the leader of the Liberal Party. George founded the corporation so he could purchase the Daily Chronicle and Lloyd’s Weekly Newspaper, giving him news outlets through which he could directly manipulate the public.
In the nearly hundred years since, UBM has shifted from being a newspaper publisher to an events and public relations company, one of the largest in the world. The company most notably acquired PR Newswire, one of the world’s largest distributors of press releases, in 1982. Their website also brags about how they have business locations in 30 countries and 5,500 staff experts. According to their website, UBM defines their business output as Events (59%), PR Newswire (25%) and Other Marketing Services (16%).
Why Did Intel Resume Advertising On Gamasutra?
Gamasutra, the SJW gaming website formerly edited by Leigh Alexander, is owned by UBM and falls under their “Other Marketing Services” category. Alexander is a vocal opponent of GamerGate and a shameless corporate shill: she actually ranked Kim Kardashian’s cash-grab mobile game as one of her favorite releases of 2014. Alexander also helped kick off the wave of “Gamers Are Dead” articles last August, which inspired the rise of GamerGate.
GamerGate managed to score a victory against Gamasutra by convincing Intel to pull their ads from the site. GamerGate pulled this off by mass emailing Intel, informing them of Alexander’s Tweets endorsing racism, bullying and other social faux pas. Unfortunately, the victory was short-lived, as Intel resumed advertising on Gamasutra not long after.
Why would Intel reverse course so quickly? Some GamerGate supporters assumed it was because Leigh Alexander was blackmailing them. If Alexander had the resources to blackmail Intel, one of the largest corporations in the world, she could have blackmailed UBM into keeping her as Gamasutra’s editor. This FanFiction.net mythologization of Alexander discounts the very real power UBM has.
It’s far more likely that UBM directly pressured Intel to reinstate the ads. Gamasutra is a tiny slice of UBM’s empire; as noted above, 84 percent of the company’s business comes from PR Newswire and Events. Whatever revenue Gamasutra earns is dwarfed by PR Newswire, one of the divisions of UBM that enables them to grab other corporations by the balls.

The goal is to improve cohesion within gamergate, dispel shilling, and uncover the nefarious plots of those who would destroy us from within. Just like we can attack the SJW's and the ethically challenged in this way, we can attack rogue elements within ourselves. We can take an active part in removing these schisms and drama happenings, and refocus the efforts of the greater gamergate community on what matters.

I havent been to a convention before, its something I have never experienced, so I have no idea if this idea is feasible or not, but we need to put ourselves forward more.

Correcting this will require giving people more questioning perspectives on journalism, better abilities to deal with statistics quoted blindly without reference, and perhaps an OpDeepFreeze style compilation of more mainstream journalists, far down the line. The statistics point especially, I'm thinking some kind of site where studies are judged by professionals based on the quality of their sample, methodology, and so on and so forth.
The social justice front can honestly be left alone for a while. People are really waking up to the insanity of these people. The best thing to do would be to get really good at immediately trending any big examples social justice idiocy, like the clapping thing going on right now. Getting #KeepOnClapping or something trending would be great.
And now, to publishers. We've said before that the reason we left publishers largely unscathed during our purge of corruption was because we needed a strong media at our back. Well, maybe it's time to make good on that. This guy ( http://theripplingwalls.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/gamergate-new-direction-new-objective.html ) did an alright blog on the more consumer-focused methods we could use to fight the bad practices in the industry, while a bit of digging, and a more independent consumer-focused media can shine the light on stuff like the destiny leaks, immensely buggy release versions, etc. We'd have to be aware of the potential conflicts with the rebuild initiative, however, and /pol/ might get huffy with us, but I'd say it's the best bet for our next set of goals.

Well, maybe it's time to make good on that. This guy ( http://theripplingwalls.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/gamergate-new-direction-new-objective.html ) did an alright blog on the more consumer-focused methods we could use to fight the bad practices in the industry, while a bit of digging, and a more independent consumer-focused media can shine the light on stuff like the destiny leaks, immensely buggy release versions, etc. We'd have to be aware of the potential conflicts with the rebuild initiative, however, and /pol/ might get huffy with us, but I'd say it's the best bet for our next set of goals.

In my opinion best solution would be for the board owners to discuss the situation and decide which board should stay while the other remains as a mod for the remaining board (Rock Paper Scissors if it comes to that). It is not too useful for us to have two boards at the same time. Discussion on important topics and operations in the future will be divided with half of the discussion happening on both boards.
It is inevitable that eventually both boards will die out like old /gg/ and /gamergate/ did. So which one of them goes first? Will people then migrate to the remaining board or will they believe shills lies that the other board is full of faggots and make another board again? Will shills convince the surviving boards users to mock everyone from the other board for its owner repeating what happened to old /gg/ and /gamergate/?

After the recent second migration from the main GG board to both /gg/ and /gamergatehq/ due to the management failure of /gamergate/ and the divisionary tactics of our detractors, it’s become clearer than ever that our situational reliance on a single board host is less than optimal. As a complex anonymous revolt/community/whatever you prefer to call it, we have no leadership, which in many cases has been one of our best assets. However, it does leave us with a hurdle in the form of organization. While we are certainly capable of sorting ourselves out, it’s quite frankly a pain in the ass to have to do this song and dance whenever the board owner throws a tantrum. Any time something like this happens, we’re forced to rely on basically who gets there first, which puts colluders ahead of the game, or at least invites suspicions of such for any board we go to made after that. Having backup boards isn’t enough, I feel.
OPERATION ARIADNE is a bit of a meta project I’d like to suggest, based on an idea born from my misgivings with the tension created by this recent debacle. This is the first time we’ve ever seen two active boards (presuming /gg/ pulls through the shitposting, but even if it doesn’t chances are it may come up again in the future) and I’ve seen many decide that we can work with that. Instead of having a centralized board that shuts down the 8chan GG group entirely when it goes under, having two boards gives posters more choices and a strong backup.
However, as it stands, the boards like this are a disorganized mess. Many people have misgivings one way or the other about posting on one of the existing boards. Two possibilities exist going forward; either one ends up overshadowing the other, pretty much forcing those who prefer the latter to succumb, or the two continue on in competition. This invariably will lead to stress; don’t divide the hashtag, but even worse would be to split the board like that, or at least I think so.
It may seem a bit radical, but my idea is this; split the boards without splitting the people. I propose we go even further than just two boards, and create a web of separate gamergate related boards, each to cover different aspects. Rather than have two pages with significant overlap, we could set up a board for digging, a board for discussing current events, a board for e-celeb discussion, the works. They wouldn’t have to be “officially designated” or anything, either. In effect, rather than the faulty reliance on a single board owner, gamergate boards become open source. If someone pulls another Blade, it will be much less effective. Spammers will have a much more difficult time. Migrations can be pulled off without a hitch. The competitive nature of 8chan which allows boards to out-perform one another will be maximized, as only smaller subjects needs to be covered by that board, and administrative conflicts will become much less of an issue for differing parts of the group.
Note: I’m not suggesting the abolition of existing boards, but the integration of them. This is a means to bridge the gaps, and counter the attempts, current and future, to fracture our cooperation here. It also should help the issue of which board owners we can trust without implementing leadership. Board owners are like centralized government, and I’d like to give the majority of the power back to the people.
The question then would become one of keeping track of the list of gamergate boards. This could take the form of a google doc or even a separate board itself, whose purpose is to keep a list of links to boards up to date, amongst other possible things. A /hub/ if you will. Of course, what boards are added to the list would be completely unrestricted, in order to prevent managerial interference or bias. Something as simple as the board owner sending a link to the list updater could do, I think.
