So yeah. Made a thread specifically for constructive boycott discussion.

Got perma-banned again, because "shit-stirring"

Acid Man says he's "cracking down" on "boycott shills" now, that the "roundtable" has started.

Hi guys BO here currently posting from afar. Going to need anons to help promote the board and get things going around here over the next few days.

I have a better idea now of how crazy things seem to be getting.

>Get banned

>Better make a thread here about getting banned instead of discussing Gamergate

this is why this board will fail

Developer boycotts were discussed very early on and the overwhelming consensus was DON'T DO IT because it would gain us nothing and would scare neutral/unaware devs into the enemy camp with the threat that they might be next. The devs have as much right to be angry at the corrupt media as consumers do, and we want to keep them on our side.

Shills (they do exist) have been trying to push us into counterproductive activities for the whole time this has been going on. They've tried to push us into warring against other boards, make the channers and redditors hate each other, make us distrust the board owners, stress out the board owners until they make mistakes, and promote bad ideas. When your post resembles a common shill tactic, don't be surprised to be mistaken for one.

If you are a shill, gather intel on who you work for and leak it at an opportune moment in a way that does not expose your identity. Try to figure out who they work for. Provide evidence if possible.

Two things.

Yes they do but they get entirely too much credit for things they had nothing to do with. Alot of shills have been outed in the past. The people around now are not shills they are people who are getting shafted by elitism and are justifiably angry.

Second, early on boycotts were avoided for one reason

devs were silent

Many devs are now openly outspoken about all this and some have endorsed better consumer habits

Now I am not in favor or against boycotts I leave that up to anon and my personal opinion stays out, but I do think better consumer habits would be a good thing.

Rejoice! The true Leader of Gamergate has send word from his Headquarters that such activity is no longer bannable!

Banning people under strict rules, then relaxing the rules was all part of Our Glorious Leader's masterful plan to... uh, well, fuck up the post counts and out him and his mods as dramaqueen social engineers for some strange reason.

THAT DOESN'T MATTER

What matter's is that you're now free to post about boycotts again!

>>>/gamergatehq/183890

Oh, wait, "perma-banned". Nevermind. Carry on anon.

I haven't discusses gamergate for months because of the shit mods.

GG is a consumer revolt, our only power is economic power. To say we cannot discuss boycotts is to declaw us.

Our wiki even declares boycotts against several developers and companies, it's just the mods of the discussion places who seem to be brain-damaged individuals.

I disagree that our only power is economic though. We have strong social media presence as well which means we can hurt brands and even hold a small political weight, not through collective voting but by mass e-mailing campaigns and sending letters (see FTC, TPP etc).
