So Edwards claims there is no interest in having a debate from our side. Can't tell if lying or just stupid.

But that's ultimately irrelevant. What matters is she made the claim, now we get to prove her wrong.

It's simple: I say we start making buzz about this and try to set up a debate. Milo already challenged Sarkeesian even with ten grand on the table, and got nothing. Maybe he'd be interested in another challenger. If not him, there's got to be someone else interested in doing this. Sargon, Oliver, whoever. The point is to throw a direct and unambiguous call for debate at the IGDA.

Yes, most likely. But then it becomes another data point. It's another link in the papertrail to point at whenever anybody accuses us of not wanting to solve this, and it's yet another proof that the same people who fill their mouths about "having a dialogue" will run for the hills when actually presented with one. It might be only one example, but those pile up and make it easier to argue our position with neutrals later on.

TLDR version of the whole story is that Harper was accused of supporting violence against transgenders, likely by someone even more batshit insane than Harper is.

Today, Gawker published another hit-piece. Honestly, we as a community can do this. We really can get some bloody noses. But we need to fight together; as individuals, we're okay. But as a collective, we're a force to be reckoned with. We need a collective campaign to inform advertisers and ad-hosts of what Gawker is doing.

Many of you remember this old post on Gawker, it had 1k upvotes. It was extremely sophisticated but to be honest, we did not follow up on the strategy laid out. Basic email campaigns won't work against Gawker…

So, as the post pointed out, moat ads (used heavily) for heat maps and ad exposure measurement. Yet, what do we have here?

I have seen people talking about why we shouldn't boycott because if we do that no devs would support us, but I have a question: why the fuck do you guys care about dev support anyway? Most devs who have posted on 8ch and elsewhere have made it clear, they wouldn't publicly support us because their companies wouldn't allow it, and they are afraid of SJW blacklash. Afraid of a tiny group of madpeople whining on twitter. While they don't give a damn about the far larger group of gamers who have been slandered from day 1 and are increasingly losing patience with the dev's not trying to defend their art.

So what's the fucking use of devs coming out to support us anyway? Are they going to put SJWs and corrupt Journos on blast and cut ties with them forever? Because my impression is that most of them care only about $$$$$$$$$$. And even if they say they hate SJWs, they'll be happy to pander to and make friends with SJWs if doing so allows them to quietly make $$$$$$$$. Even if it means their art, their industry and their audience is being stamped and spitted on.

About boycotts.

Hold on for a second. Let me finish before you start screaming.

I appreciate the things Acid Man has done for /gamergatehq/. He put himself on the line, put his name out there when he didn't have to, and even put in safeties so the board won't fall if he does.

But. The fact that he refuses to even allow the idea of a boycott to be discussed without shitting on the OP and locking the thread. That's concerning. I was all set to debate the various merits and drawbacks of it in this thread:

Boycotts should not be off the table as something to potentially be discussed. They are one of the most powerful tools at our disposal as consumers. The mere threat of a boycott is what caused Microsoft to backpedal so frantically on their media center Xbox One and it's "must connect to the internet every 24 hours" DRM. The simple threat of organized resistence and mass refusal to purchase sent them sprinting in the opposite direction as fast as they could. The Bone had a day one software patch to fix the things they said they could not fix and that we would just have to accept and deal with, all because a large number of people threatened to not buy it.

Simply threatening to incorporate boycott tactics into GamerGate would be enough to cause many people to sit up a little straighter and pay a little more attention to our demands for journalistic transparency and corporate integrity. We wouldn't even have to actually go through with it, which I think is part of the problem a lot of people who are opposed to it do not understand. The threat alone carries weight. To remove it from our arsenal entirely is a dire mistake. We should always keep it on the table as an potential option. The very fact that the topics about it that briefly stayed up got bombed so hard by Ghazi and shills is proof that they're afraid of us even talking about doing it, which should tell you how powerful a weapon it can be.

The coordinated effort to inform thousands of neutrals on twitter. Shake the earth underneath 1355 Market St, San Francisco.

As of now we have not yet used a tried-and-true tactic for twitter hashtags. A tactic we use in massively multiplayer online games every day. Every large scale attack in an MMO is planned and coordinated. We wouldn't go into an EVE online battle without a battleplan and without informing all captains when it takes place. For clan based attacks in browser games like TribalWars we set alarm clocks to 2am so we can surprise our opponents in their sleep.

It is time to bring the experience we have gained in those games to twitter.

On Thursday 9. April 6pm PDT we take to twitter and trend the hashtag #AreYouBlocked? If we put some effort into it, say 1000 or 2000 people starting with 10 tweets each, we can have it trending the first minute world wide. To put it into perspective Jimmy Fallon in his late night show and Michelle Obama tried to get #momdance trending, as promotion for her "Let's Move!" campaign. Step 0.5: create and collect original content about the Blocklists. Articles, who is on there, "What is the Blocklist", "Who is using the Blocklist", "IGDA and the Blocklist", Who created the Blocklist(s), Why is Dawkins a racist according to the blocklist… Almost endless possibilities

Step 1: Fire at least 10 tweets at Thursday 9. April 6pm PDT with #AreYouBlocked. Use no other hashtags in those tweets.

Step 2: Everyone retweets and favorites 5 selected tweets. We know from another hashtag that extremely high boosted tweets help the tag to get trending. And those tweets will show up on the top page of the trending hashtag, where neutrals go to inform themselves what the fuzz is about.

Which tweets we will use will be announced after the operation is a foot.

Step 3: Start organically retweeting, favoriting and replying to tweets with the hashtag.
