R: 2 / I: 0 (sticky) Purpose of this board
Hello, Leaders.
Lately there's been a lot of drama about e-celebs, about creating a council to drive the direction of GamerGate. This has been largely detrimental to the dynamics and the momentum of the movement/consumer revolt, as it creates first and second class GG members.
This has never been the spirit of GamerGate.
However, in the midst of the drama, others have discussed creating a forum, a place to propose and discuss operations or actions to carry out for GamerGate.
Many point to /gamergate/ or gamergate.community, but I believe these are not the best options.
*/gamergate/ is for general discussion, news, happenings, etc.
*gamergate.community uses registration and nicknames, which inevitably leads to the rise of personalities and power dynamics. I have nothing against that site, but I think if we're gonna have a forum where everyone's opinion has the same importance, it has to be anonymous.
So I'm creating /ggforum/, a space for the proposal of initiatives, ideas and operations, and the corresponding debate.
Specific rules:
1) This board is only for proposing and discussing operations.
2) No e-celeb drama
3) No news (unless directly related to a proposal or its discussion)
Other than that, /gamergate/'s rules apply:
1) No doxing (Posting Private Information)
1a) All public information must have sources
1b) No calls for raiding/harassment
1c) All posted info must be relevant to the topic at hand
2) No spamming.
3) Always use archive.today when links are related to the blacklist:
http://wiki.gamergate.me/index.php/Boycott_List 3a) Turn Youtube links into WEBM files for users/publications on the blacklist.
4) Link shorteners such as bit.ly are not permitted.
Lastly, I think it's in GamerGate's best interest that this forum is welcoming not only to 8chan users, but to anyone who participates in GamerGate. Let's try to keep discussion civil and keep in mind not everyone who posts here may be familiar with chan culture.
